Once in the Military the UCMJ now has your rights in it. Your Rights are not the same as a civilian.
I remember basic training it is good to hold on to your politics but keep them to your self, Especially in Uniform as you Represent the Armed Forces.

I agree that there is a different standard once in the military, but being told what they can't read?

I was in the service and we were never told what materials we could or could not read. (as long as it didn't involve national security.)

I also had great discussions on religion with my buddies while in the barracks.

I am afraid the military is not what it once was.
