California corrections officials say convicted serial killer Richard Ramirez, known as the Night Stalker, has died in prison.

San Quentin State Prison spokesman Lt. Sam Robinson says Ramirez died Friday morning.

Ramirez was convicted of 13 murders that terrorized Southern California in 1984 and '85, and sentenced to death.

Satanic symbols were left at murder scenes and some victims were forced to "swear to Satan" by the killer, who entered homes through unlocked windows and doors.

Ramirez was captured and beaten in 1985 by residents of an East Los Angeles neighborhood while attempting a carjacking.

Isn’t he the one that Diane Feinestein released the info on that cops wanted to keep secret allowing him to kill again before his capture?

Why is this news? Deserves as much coverage as my car running over a worm.

So he is sentenced to death in ‘85 or ‘86 and dies in 2013 of natural causes?

Doesn't seem like the death penalty in CA is much of a deterrent.

Hold on.

He appeals the sentence.

He dies in prison.

Coincidence?

His lawyers need to be outraged that his appeal can’t now go forward. They have to be able to sue someone, now that one of their cash cows is gone.

Hip-hip horay! One less ‘excrement’ of a human being to feed in prison.

I did not see ‘natural causes’ anywhere in the article. Did you see that somewhere else? I figured he got beaten to death or shiv’d.

Cause has been withheld. Age was reported in the article, he was 53 the second paragraph states. News outlets? What’s that?

Ooops.. 53. I didn’t see that, thanks. Cause is either AIDS or clobbered to death by other inmates while prison guards have backs turned.

We have almost 700 scum on death row and I can’t remember the last time that number was reduced the way it’s supposed to be reduced.
