I can’t help but believe that the “retreat” laws were designed to keep blacks from firing on KKK at the front door, forcing the victim out the back door into the waiting ropes of more KKK.

“I can’t help but believe that the “retreat” laws were designed to keep blacks from firing on KKK at the front door, forcing the victim out the back door into the waiting ropes of more KKK.”

I think you missed the fact that the ‘retreat law’ does not say anything about EXITING the house, just to the most rearward INDOOR safe place, and then, stop the intruder. Such as the other side of the bed, near the wall corner.

I think you need to inform yourself, exactly what the ‘retreat law’ states, if one is still applicable, in your home state. If not, then I hope that your State Legislature, ahs written a ‘Castle law’, applicable to your own state. If neither is the case, why are you reading Freeper, and not doing something about that?
