MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Republican-controlled budget committee has approved a plan to cut income taxes about $650 million over the next two years.
The Joint Finance Committee voted Wednesday on the tax cut, which is nearly double what Gov. Scott Walker proposed in February.

W00T! And I heard on the radio this am it includes a tax deduction for private school tuition - up to $4K for elementary school, up to $10K for high school.

I’ve always thought that a tax deduction for private school would be a good and fair idea. I heard this weekend that the tuition now for Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in Milwaukee is now $17,000 per year, so it still would be a sacrifice.
