The homosexual definition of marriage doesn’t include sexual or even emotional fidelity.

That’s why I like that story, 81 Words. I ran into it totally by accident. It’s public radio and it isn’t perceived as the least bit conservative.

I share it with moderates and liberals because of that. We have to reestablish the idea of homosexuality as a mental disorder. It’s treatable and manageable.

In time we will even find a cure. Right now the only cure I know of is spiritual via Jesus.

I forgot the sarcasm tag on the first part of that. It was early in the morning.

Have you been to the site http://narth.com/about-narth/ ? I've worked with Dr. Nicolosi in the past and I know Dr. Cretella personally. It's a very good organization.

Thanks for the link. I don’t know him personally, but I do know about NARTH. They’ve been villified in the press and for a good reason. They destroy the lie that once homosexual always homosexual.

I know ‘homosexuals’ who don’t practice. Some are Catholic priests and some are just regular people trying to live as God would have them.

I suspect it is hormonal and environmental. That there are some triggers that activate homosexuality, including social reinforcement. I believe it is a mental/physical disease and I haven’t seen any evidence that it cannot be cured.

Quite the contrary, if, instead of funding science in favor of homosexuality, we funded science for a cure, we’d have one by now.

Exdemmom, I pinged you to this for your thougths on the matter.

Disney is going so broke. Surely they need to “Gay Up” to survive.

Have a young male character who was molested by an older gay man who infected him with AIDS, and is in the final stages of Kaposi's sarcoma.

You know the funny thing is that the traditional Disney cartoon characters were not sexual at all. Walt wasn’t promoting sex.

I think the truth is these companies know better. Sure Disney, Starbucks, and others have openly announced they accept and welcome in gays, but then you never see a gay Disney character or a gay blend of coffee.

Ben and Jerry’s did a gay flavor and how is that going for them? JC Penny has gayed it up and how is that doing for them? Businesses care about one thing, money. Disney knows the majority of the money from their movies and characters comes from families with children. They know the backlash from a gay character would be devastating. Doesn’t matter how much they support it, they will follow the dollars.

Thanks for the ping.

I have read a recent hypothesis that male homosexuality seems to be correlated with the mother’s hormones when she gets pregnant. Apparently, a too-high level of fertility hormones causes some epigenetic changes in the fetus’ brain. Epigenetic means that the genes are not altered, but the way they are used—that is, “expressed” is changed.

Similar things happen in the bodies of very obese people, or drug addicts—their gene expression changes in such a way that the pathological state is “normal” to their bodies. The way the genes are expressed actually causes physical changes to the body.

To an extent, epigenetic changes can be corrected with therapy. Drug addicts can be weaned off of drugs; obese people can lose weight. It takes a while to reset the epigenetics to a more-or-less normal state; the longer the person maintains the “normal” state, the less likely they are to relapse.

Since male homosexuality seems to be epigenetic, not genetic, it should be treatable with behavioral therapy (and possibly some drugs). Preferably started as early as possible, when the young man first starts to exhibit signs.

Oh, one little addition to what I just posted:

This only applies to male homosexuals. I am not aware of any hypothesis as to why females become homosexual.

Thanks and I appreciate your brilliance. My argument with the recent Scout change allowing ‘openly homosexual’ boys to participate is that it presents a golden opportunity to turn these boys around.

Nearly every Scout troop is sponsored by a church. Those churches have a mission to spread the Gospel and evangelize. A kid that ‘comes out’ in a church sponsored Scout troop is crying for help. It’s an opportunity, not a threat. What do you think?

Nor, I. I don’t think lesbianism is as widely studied or prevalent as male homosexuality. The lesbians that I’ve known personally were all abused.

Why don’t they stop watching Disney movies then?

I never really thought about it that way.

I see the big gay agenda here as wanting to have someone who is openly and flamboyantly homosexual around to influence boys who may be uncertain about their sexuality. Certainly, if they want to be there to influence the boy to become homosexual, then he can be influenced towards being normal.
