Loose talk by senior members of the Obama administration may have condemned Shakil Afridi, a Pakistani doctor who assisted America's hunt for Osama bin Laden, to 33-year term in prison on trumped-up charges.
According to Fox News, an official 357-page report by the Pakistani government that examined the security failures that allowed the U.S. to evade that country's defenses in the raid on May 2, 2011 concluded that Dr. Afridi was implicated by a "statement by the U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, who was the CIA Director when May 2 happened, confirming the role of Dr. Afridi in making the U.S. assassination mission a success."
Panetta had been speaking to CBS News' 60 Minutes in January 2012. He said: "This was an individual who, in fact, helped provide intelligence that was very helpful with regards to this operation, and he was not in any way treasonous towards Pakistan." The Pakistani report has not yet been officially released to the public.
The Obama administration was criticized in 2011 after leaking key operational details of the bin Laden raid, particularly the identity of U.S. Navy SEAL Team 6, which carried out the operation. Several weeks later, several members of that team were targeted and killed by the Taliban. Family members have been harshly critical of the Obama administration, arguing that its "criminal" leaks put SEAL Team 6 at greater risk.
In contrast to the Obama administration's pursuit of other national security leaks, and the media outlets to which the leaks were made, there has not been any apparent attempt to hold its own leakers accountable.
Meanwhil, Dr. Afridi remains in prison, awaiting the resumption of his appeals process in June.

The corruptocrats in the Obama administration also outed Seal Team 6 in this sordid story. These people should never have been anywhere close to power, but the truly ignorant welfare class, dependent women, and university Leftists voted this treasonous bunch into positions of power. They have zero experience or common sense. None of them should have a security clearance.

obama didn’t want Dr Afridi to get credit for capturing Bin Laden, he wanted all the glory for himself so he threw Afridi under the bus. Now Seal Team 6 are dead and Afridi is in prison. obama has a lot of blood on his hands.
This is another scandal and obamas chickens are going to come home to roost. obama is a murderous sociopath that needs to be brought down before more innocent people lose their lives feeding his arrogance.
What foreigner is ever going to risk their necks for the United States again for a bounty or otherwise knowing what happened to this man? I believe that Obama views him as a traitor and wants to see him punished. One can’t help but wonder if it was incompetence or a deliberate action that caused his administration to out our brave Navy Seals and their families and put them all at risk.
The whole thing reaks of some sort of covert deal making. They give us aging, and nearly useless Bin Laden to keep Obama in power. We give them our Seal Team and this doctor. This was a win win situation for Al-Qaeda. We martyred Bin Laden and then gave them a rallying point when those who took care of him were killed and this doctor was imprisoned. They know that they also helped to keep a weak ineffectual leader as Commander-in-Chief.
They also seem to understand better than we do where Obamam’s true sympathies lie... they read his book and believed the part where he said that when push comes to shove he stands with the Muslims and that the most beautiful sound in the world is the Muslim call to prayer. The leaders of Al-Qaeda may not be that smart, but they can certainly recognize a good deal for them when one is presented.
He should be overjoyed that Obama looked good. why is he complaining?
Maybe eating "Paki Prison Surprise" for 33 years has something to do with it?

We offered $10 million dollars reward for Bin Laden, and instead let this man be imprisoned.
NO ONE will help us again, if they know this is what we let happen.
And imagine the horrors this poor guys is suffering in ISLAMIC country prison.

It’s all headed up in hell, not here, anyhow. Muslim sentiments may have moved them to want to keep on protecting OBL even after he had ceased to be useful. Or the fear that he would be caught alive and would be water boarded or even just plain wheedled into telling on the people who had turned on him. There is so much we may never know, at least before meeting God face to face.
A conundrum. If the US didn’t go after OBL it would lose credibility, not that Obama would have cared that much though. But the US has also now warned any more would be Dr. Afridis that it is treacherous, at least under Democrat administrations. (Bush would never have countenanced this.) And as long as Democrats loom as a likely possibility in US administrations, even if the White House goes back to Republicans in 2016, this chill to cooperation will continue.
I feel ashamed. This man helped us and now he sits in prison.
