Bill Would Use Calif.’s Tax Policy To Pressure Boy Scouts Into Fully Accepting Gay Members

The state Senate approved legislation Wednesday that would use California’s tax policy in an attempt to pressure the Boy Scouts of America into fully accepting gay members.

The bill would make the organization ineligible for nonprofit tax breaks, despite its vote last week to accept openly gay scouts while blocking gays from becoming scout leaders.

... It now goes to the Assembly. If the bill is eventually signed into law by the governor, the groups would have to pay corporate taxes on donations, membership dues and camp fees, while also paying sales tax on food, beverages and homemade items sold at fundraisers.

I agree 100%.

Boy Scouts, you need to wake the heck back up, and rescind this monstrous decision, before you absolutely destroy a program so many have loved so much, for so long.

Now.

The bill would make the organization ineligible for nonprofit tax breaks, despite its vote last week to accept openly gay scouts while blocking gays from becoming scout leaders.
Democratic Sen. Ricardo Lara of Bell Gardens said that policy means gays can join the scouts only until they turn 18.
“Equality does not have an expiration date,” he said. “Discrimination should not be subsidized.”
So unless they allow gay leaders also they will be taxed.

Nuke the entire bay area; with special emphasis on Frisco, Berkley and Marin, they need two 50 megaton weapons each.
Nuke the entire Sacto area, special attention to when every body in the legislature is there for what they call an important vote.
Nuke the entire west side of LA and at least 3 weapons each for West Hollywood and Santa Monica.
This will only give you a fair start on what used to be a pretty decent state, until the wetbacks and homos took over.
I say all of this as a native Californian born in San Francisco.

Given the experience of Penn State and the Roman Catholic church with adult male homosexuals and young boys, Sen. Lara needs a millstone around his neck.

They’re called “gays” because “hypocrites” was already taken.

Isn't there some law somewhere about "Bills of Attainder"?

Or is that only for the Feds?

Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy got ticked off at a member of the Murdoch Mob, and pushed through a bill to punish News Corp.

The USSC slapped Teddy down.

Reduce those yields to 500 kilotons each and you’re onto something.

The Bolsheviks have hated the Boy Scouts for a long time. They have finally found a way to destroy them.

Is such a bill even Constitutional?

I don’t know what precedents there are but Tax policy should not be able to be used to force through other policies and impinge upon the rights of others to make legal decisions about the direction of their business, company etc. It betrays any thought of Democracy and undermines the system of government.

The bastards won’t be happy until every boy in the Scouts is sodomized. Good God, what’s become of our country? How do we possibly stop this?

The boy scouts as a troop are not a tax exempt organization. The troop or pack or crew is Owned by its charter. Most often this is a church, vfw, etc that is tax exempt.
