Liberals will describe this news as “unexpected”.

You don’t win elections by cleaning up the mess too soon. A gullible public must be burned twice to not trust the match a third time.

That is so wrong.

Right you are! No, I mean really right! The quote is so wrong, in fact, it's incorrect. Congress is not exempt from Obastardcare.

And thanks to their party over principle theatrics, they won’t win the next one either. Sure, they will run an ever more liberal GOP wonderboy like Christie or Rubio...then wonder why they lost.

Except for the fact that they don’t want to win to begin with. One bird, two wings.

How many dads do you have?

Unfortunately, Qwackertoo, what you have described is akin to the "tragedy of the commons." If most people think and act like you, there will be no affordable insurance when you DO decide to go get it after you have contracted an expensive disease or have a premie or experience another catastrophic risk. It's called an actuarial death spiral.

Rates will shoot higher, faster, as more and more "qwackertoos" drop out to avoid paying now-outrageous prices, banking their "savings" and hoping that enough other idiots will actually buy insurance that don't need it right at that moment so there will be something left when the "smart ones" decide to tap into it.

Glad it's only you that would drop out of the risk pool. Meanwhile, my employer and I will keep buying insurance so it still exists when you need it. Regards.

“How many dads do you have?”

2. My dad and step dad. Why do you ask?

We’re not the first, nor the last society to allow a pied piper to come in and lead the masses to the toilet...

I’m just a screaming spectator evidently.

>> “(i) REQUIREMENT.—Notwithstanding any other provision of law, after the effective date of this subtitle, the only health plans that the Federal Government may make available to Members of Congress and congressional staff with respect to their service as a Member of Congress or congressional staff shall be health plans that are—
(I) created under this Act (or an amendment made by this Act); or
(II) offered through an Exchange established under this Act (or an amendment made by this Act).” <<

.
You are not reading that correctly.

The phrase “Notwithstanding any other provision of law” means that Obamacare will not withstand “any other provision of law.”

This is going to be a circus.

I just figure the congresscritters will be insured by a pretty nice package no matter what is proclaimed.

IF we get sick I will go buy insurance.

What do you do about the half million bucks your intensive care visit rings up before you can get the Obamacare to go into effect (it would never be before the beginning of the following month).

True. Sadly, the time when you'd need the coverage the most is the moment you realize you need an ambulance. By the time you get through to a bureaucrat, you've already wracked up 100K in hospital bills with no insurance.

Take my word for it. Before we had our series of "emergencies" we thought we were in pretty good shape. 5 hospital visits for miscellaneous emergencies later and I had a change of perspective.

Want to hear the miracle of it all? I had decided to pay a little more for 100% coverage. It was expensive but I just didn't want to take a chance on exposure. Heck, I even prayed on it.

The second day coverage went active. I got creamed in a rear-ender that totaled my car. A year in therapy. It was the first of a series of hospital required incidents.

I thank GOD every day for motivating me to bump up that premium.

Next year, I'm pretty sure all that will go away. Businesses are going into "Duck and Cover" mode until Obama's gone, and "run and hide" mode if another socialist gets elected.

Is the AP and all the other obama media exempt?
Wonder if anyone at the AP have figured out that they have been used and are about to get punked like the rest of us.

True enough. For now . . . we have excellent health insurance. I really hope that doesn’t change but have my doubts & worries. Yep, got rear ended 3 years ago, the day before we were leaving on vacation . . . the next day while touring, I fell and fractured my ankle, bi-mal . . . I still wonder IF that was partially due to the accident the day before as it was my foot that was on the brake pedal at the red light when hit from behind. We only sought repair damages for our vehicle, an Expedition, the other car was probably almost totaled due to the engine compartment buckling up like an aluminum can.
