“I’ll say this again for thousandth time, GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney lost the 2012 election for many reasons but one was Romney’s “willful neglect “of minority voters. Republicans need to lean in to more Americans with compelling candidates. “

Red Herring.

Romney would have had to win over more than 73% of Hispanics to win the election. More of a share than Obama had. Romney had problems with inspiring the base to turnout. Precisely because he was a wet noodle RINO.

You don’t understand Va off year elections. Repubs will sweep. Democrats really don’t care what happens in the state houses, they think nationally, kinda like you. Now shooo.

Never heard of EW Jackson before but I apprehend from this article that he is someone worthy of my financial support. This being an odd year I needed someone to support and it sure as heck wasn’t going to be Krispy Kreme.

I think your state is changing around you and you're depending on trends that may no longer be true. Just because Virginia hasn't elected a governor of the same party as the one in the White House since the late 70's doesn't mean that can't change. You live in a blue state now. Deal with it.

Inasmuch as your opinion is valued here, what is your opinion on Wright’s views, as expressed herein?

She writes like a liberal ... just a few examples from the article ...

Nominating a candidate who has a record of preaching hate toward Americans isn’t going to win the GOP votes in Virginia or anywhere.

GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney lost the 2012 election for many reasons but one was Romney’s “willful neglect “of minority voters.

Many Republicans still believe they can win elections ignoring the black vote.

I have read precious little about Cuccinelli taking his message beyond Virginia’s white electorate.

Mz. Wright is obsessed with race. She's the opposite of Martin Luther King and what she professes to be ...

I have a dream ... that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

“Jackson has made incendiary remarks in the past about gays, blacks and Democrats and yet refuses to retract anything he has said.”

33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

Blacks like Emmett Till who were tortured, lynched and murdered by the Ku Klux Klan had no say in their deaths. There is no comparison between the two and I don’t understand how a black Republican like Jackson could make such a comment.

Got news for ya Crystal: The babies didn’t have a choice about being hacked in pieces, dragged out of the womb, and thrown in a garbage disposal.

So we have over 50 replies mostly all agreeing that this Jackson was a wonderful choice and completely ignoring the things Crystal Wright wrote about.

This guy, EW Jackson, has virtually no chance to win in the State of Virginia at this time. None. He'd have been an afterthought if we had a real primary. He's a gadfly candidate that the public in Virginia is not likely to vote for in a general election. Not only is Jackson almost certainly not going to be the next Lt. Governor (because Aneesh Chopra will almost certainly crush him), this nomination made it even tougher for Cuccinelli - and Republicans up and down the ticket.

Jackson referred to gays and lesbians as “sick” and “perverted” people and compared homosexuality to pedophilia.

Jackson assailed Democrats for being “anti-God” and said Planned Parenthood “has been far, far more lethal to black lives than the KKK ever was.”

I agree with these things, but they are election losers. Jackson would be a good radio talk show host, but he's not a viable candidate in Virginia for Lt Governor. Yes, I know many in the grass roots think you can say stuff like this in today's Virginia and win a statewide election, but the grass roots in Delaware thought Christine O Donnell could be a serious candidate too. Too many people have no concept of political reality and are just voting to nominate the most conservative candidate - instead of backing the most conservative candidate that CAN win.

It's truly amazing just how politically tone deaf so many people on our side really are. The Democrats have been incredibly destructive to America, but the one thing they seem to know how to do is not throw winnable elections away on ridiculous candidates like O'Donnell, Angle, Akin, McMahon, Maes, and now EW Jackson.

I’ll bet you right here and now. How about 25 bucks?

I hope you win, but the odds are heavily in my favor - even in an off year election that should overwhelmingly favor our ticket. EW Jackson is actually that bad.
