If any parent, leaves their child in the scouts and in he future to where the case may come that they were molested, the parents did not protect the child....Churches need to be more vocal about this like gay marriage versus caving in due to the outside activists arm of the culture...

People who had growing boys in the 90s, as I did, started to see these problems gaining steam. We had to leave one mainstream church because of the aggressive gayism, moved to a more rural church, then went through it again 10 years later. Most of the mainstream churches are infected now; those which are not will face years and years of assaults by "reproductively challenged" activists at their annual conferences.

For a number of years now, since I live in a large suburban "planned community" that has no churches within 7 miles, I've been participating or organizing a series of home churches, Bible studies or prayer groups, by invitation only. We do good works and have rules about not gossiping. I'm waiting to see how this new Pope turns out to decide whether to move to a Catholic parish for my next home, since these past two decades have been the homo-housecleaning in that institution.

I say these things not from bias, but from having lived and worked in the arts for 40 years and having seen and witnessed the heartbreaking behaviors and pathologies associated with gayness and lesbianism -- the drug abuse, the anxiety, the confusion, the unhealthful practices, the adrenaline junkies, the live-together couples whose only thing in common is homosexuality, the bad break-ups, the suicides. It simply can't be entirely the fault of homophobia. No homophobia is forcing anyone to engage in acts that I do not wish even to think about, much less put in writing.

To subject kids to this under the oath of "morally straight" is insanity.

I don’t really know how many gay kids that want to be scouts, live in the inner cities. I thought they were all out getting girls pregnant and leaving them.

Rather, look for the churches to have alternate boys organizations to replace the BSA.

Also, dads taking their own families on monthly campouts.

As an Eagle Scout who has purposely kept my children out of Scouting this decision is the final death knell for the BSA.

20 years ago scouting really ceased to be the same organization I grew up with they watered down the rank requirements and have gone way too far away from the original ideals of scouting.

God, Family and Country! That is what scouting was, not camping and outdoor activities. Yes they are good skills to know, however, those activities were designed to create rugged men from little boys. To provide them with firm moral leadership and to create future leaders. They were not designed for the experience but to mold young men.

To paraphrase Jesus Christ - “A little yeast will affect the whole loaf”.

Why try to gain membership into an organization that rejects those who don’t adhere to the agreed to code? The answer is to infect it with corrupt thinking.

So how many gay kids will it take to infect the whole troop? The entire organization?

Forgive my snarky attitude towards you in my post. My outrage isn’t at you, but rather the BSA for caving on this issue. It just amazes me that a group of sickos who make up about 2% of the entire US population, wield so much power and intimidation.

You’re brave to say that, right now! I believe for awhile there won’t be a rush. Also, there are a good many solid citizens leading them on a troop and council level; they’re going to be on the watch for any suspicious behavior. There’s also older boys who might be worried about the younger ones, and will be on the watch for anyone attempting any funny business toward them!

What I’m concerned about, and I’ve seen others express is-that the forces that pushed all of this are not going to be satisfied with this! They’re not going to be happy with this small victory, they’ll want more! Just like they did with the military with DADT, they’ll push further and want more!

You really think homosexuality is infectious/ I always believed it was a choice. Raising your kids right, is the inoculation that would stop that choice. If you don’t think your kids can resist, don’t put them into scouting.

If it does end up with gay leaders, then that is a different situation.

I do not want our youth to be deprived of knowing what scouting is about because of a few individuals.

The policy they had was the best one they could have had given the fact that they spent millions defending it in court for years and won. They where cowardly and stupid. They could have easily turned the tables on the Homo Lobby with an aggressive full force add campaign including direct threats to their corporate sponsors and outreach to others.

They then came up with the worst possible policy as it is partially inclusive. That is not going to hold up in court. They also ostracized 70% of the local troops as they are sponsored by conservative religious organizations. Many will leave now, many more will leave in a few years when this poorly worded and misguided policy is over turned by court order requiring that they OK Openly Gay leaders.

You are simply showing your legal and moral ignorance when you claim that adult leaders should man up and accept the lie that active, open homosexuals can be morally straight.

Why don’t you take your faggot worship somewhere else, and quit trying to push faggotry on innocent children?

You cannot be serious!

Yes, he can. He never misses an opportunity to push the homosexual agenda.

Any parent who approves the policy change, and then find themselves all upset little Johnny gets molested by his elder “buddy system” homo companion... well that parent asked for it. And the BSA cowards gave their green-light for this. The whole organization can go burn in hell.

Irony? A Boy Scout organization forced to leave their downtown Philly headquarters just as the rest of the organization seems dead set on moving in to the city of brotherly love.

—>>>If you don’t think that could be prevented, then I really hope you’re not a scout leader, and if you can’t raise your kid properly and trust your child around some gay kid, then I hope you’re not a parent.

That’s really unfair to state that because as parents, they want to be able to discuss personal issues with their child not by allowing or condoning a state run group or whatever should replace the parent role; basically to take the role of the parent by teaching what a child should think of an issue. The BSA has basically changed their own policy that they used for years to introduce to new members as a reason to join. They betrayed those very members who made the BSA successful of all of those past years. I hope they fail so society claims the faith to morality more so. I am sorry young children will be hurt from activities though I much rather protect them though a new group which should form. Let the BSA end as we once knew it. It’s not honor by God any longer. It’s as simple as that. We can’t dilute God’s message to survive as a society.

You don’t protect children from homosexual molestation by introducing them to homosexuality. Of course, you know that. That’s why you say that anyone who teaches their children Christian values should not be allowed to be parents.
