OK,so the moral of *that* story is that no company should invest a dime in any of Central/South America’s dozens of Fourth World banana republics.

Forbes isn’t a bad publication IMO.It’s not as if he’s posting swill from the Daily Chaos or anything.

Are these dweebs who buy one share of a stock so they can hijack the shareholder meeting?

I notice it mentioned “local activists”. That would be because Chevron is about the only productive, taxpaying, job producing entity in the hellhole known as Richmond CA. Plus they donate millions to local causes. Well Richmond slapped them with some tax to completely kill the golden goose, Chevron won in court, and the city was supposed to pay it back. Chevron had closed some offices in CA but left the refinery there, and the libs would get angry because “that means they’re still making money”.

Mayor MacLaughlin of Richmond has an interesting history of communist elbow rubbing. I would suspect that anything short of closing down the refinery could appease her.

I”m out of the bay area now, but I knew so many libs that hated Chevron, and when I would say what I said in my previous post, they didn’t care! Chevron should not make ANY money! I secretly hoped Chevron would pull out of there just to teach them a lesson, but I know the location is good for transportation purposes and they have to make good business decisions.

We live across the bay from Chevron and I know exactly what you mean. If Chevron did move, the Pt. Richmond area would be prime real estate. Wonder if the mayor owns any property there?
