My concern is more with the reputation of scouting.
I remember growing up when Cub Scouts would proudly wear their uniforms to school...as a non-Scout, I would sometimes be envious of them.
These days you rarely see that.
It's going to get turned into something that inspires a chuckle and a smirk, sort of like "Clinton and Lewinsky".
Which, I suppose is the gay lobby's endgame, anyway.
How exactly, do you explain this to a seven year old? "Well, the Scouts had these values. But they were inconvenient, and made some bad publicity for a few people, so the Scouts changed their values completely..... Well, yes, I know what I told you about 'integrity'..... Of Course, you should still have integrity.... No, I don't know why the Scout leaders didn't...... Well, yes, I said that they were people of integrity and should be respected and listened to..... "
And so on. I've not had this complicated conversation yet, and I'm not looking forward to it.
When I was a kid, we wore our uniforms to school, met for pack meetings at the school, presented the colors for the school. Then scouting was kicked out of the school for not going gay. Now they will get kicked out of the church for going gay.
