… Concerning the injection of foreign DNA into GM crops, Physicians and Scientists for Responsible Application of Science and Technology (PSRAST) have taken a more scientific approach by actually investigating how the body processes foreign DNA, which revealed that things are not as peachy as Monsanto claims they are. As can be expected, foreign DNA is not properly recognized by the body, and negatively stimulates the immune system in such a way as to cause disease-inducing inflammation

GMOs should be safety tested before they hit the market says AMA

... Studies in the scientific literature have suggested that genetic engineering could introduce new food allergens, increase the levels of known allergens, raise or lower nutrient levels and have adverse effects on the animals that eat such foods.”

New study: Monsanto's toxins kill human kidney cells

… A new study shows that low doses of Bt biopesticide CryA1b as well as the glyphosate herbicide, Roundup, kill human kidney cells. The Bt biopesticide conferring insect resistance and the glyphosate tolerance trait tied to the use of glyphosate herbicides account for almost all the GM crops grown worldwide

… These studies, along with the observation that Bt protein is present in the blood of pregnant women and their babies makes it an urgent matter for the health impacts of Bt proteins in GMO crops to be thoroughly investigated along with the known effects on the environment and non-target species [that is, in us].

Uncovered, the 'toxic' gene hiding in GM crops: Revelation throws new doubt over safety of foods

You Are What You Eat: Genetically Modified Foods Include “Information”

… According to recent research from China’s Nanjing University, when people eat rice, tiny sequences of microRNA from the plant-based food can survive the body’s digestive process and end up absorbed in human tissue where —and here’s the reason why we need to know about this study —plant microRNA may actually affect how our cells behave and function. In the study,Exogenous plant MIR168a specifically targets mammalian LDLRAP1: evidence of cross-kingdom regulation by microRNA,published in the Journal Cell Research, the genetic material from rice showed up in human liver cells where it appeared to influence cells’ uptake of cholesterol from the blood.

Unless you have a deep, dark secret, I hope all your food has foreign, non-human, DNA.

OMG! We should stop eating plants immediately! And animals too, just to be safe.

New Study Links Genetically Engineered Corn to Infertility

… New study confirms that GM food damages fertility

In a new Austrian study ....it has been discovered that GM corn has a damaging effect upon the reproductive system (1).

The work was done at the request of the Austrian Health Ministry, and the results were presented yesterday by Professor Jurgen Zentek and his team to an expert conference organized by the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety. The work was done at the University of Vienna, using a GM maize hybrid line called NK603 xMON810,which has two copies of the RR gene in it,each copy with its own, different promoter sequence,as well as the MON810 gene.

… difference was statistically significant. Mice fed with GM-free corn reproduced more rapidly. In a series of carefully-controlled trials,it was also discovered that there was a statistically significant decrease in litter weight in the third and fourth litters of mice in the GM-fed group as compared to the control group.

...“bio-ag” corporations have focused all of their efforts on genetically altering plants to do one of two things: 1) produce their own internal pesticide to kill or deter insects; and 2) be completely herbicide-resistant so they can be repeatedly sprayed with glyphosate (aka RoundUp),glufosinate, and 2-4,D (one of the primary ingredients of Agent Orange) to kill weeds. Some crops are genetically engineered with both traits; soy was recently genetically engineered to withstand all three.

For nearly two decades,NO studies have been performed on the human safety of GMO products —in fact the first research is only now emerging, and almost all of it is appearing only in countries outside of the U.S.

To date,no American scientist has investigated the levels of toxic residues in GMO foods.

There have been no studies to determine how much of the herbicides and pesticides that are genetically engineered into the crops remain inside the plant, once it reaches our dinner plate. … No long-term testing has been performed to assess the impacts of any of these toxic substances —neither on human health nor on the environment.
