If you read the release, as I did five times, it states that homosexual behavior is not and has not ever been allowed in LDS scout troops. Homosexual behavior is automatic dismissal from a LDS scout troop as well as membership in the church.
While homosexual behavior is a great sin, the LDS church had not turned against homosexuality but his encouraged homosexuals to repent of such sinful behavior and come onto Jesus Christ.
While the I think this will open another can of worms I understand what scouting does to strengthen young men and I intend to support my nephew at his Eagle court of honor next weekend.
