I have been involved to one degree or another with scouting my whole life. Either as a scout myself, a volunteer leader (including a Scout Master and on the local Scouting Committee on numerous occassions), or an annual doner. No more. For the reasons I cite, I can no longer support the organization either myself, or for my own grandsons.
So, this is a letter I sent to the Boy Scouts of America regarding their recent "vote," on accepting openly gay young men as scouts:
Boy Scouts of America
May 24, 2013,
I was in Scouting as a youth. I have been a leader, including a Scout Master, and a member of our Scout Committee, serving as the Advancement chair on occassion. I have also donated to scouting my entire life.
As a result of your recent decision regarding openly gay youth being able to join scouting, I personally will not be giving another dime to the BSA.
I will also recommend that my children not enroll any of our grandsons into the organization...as much as it pains me, and as much as I regret the loss of this once great organization.
Part of Scouting is to be "morally straight." Those words have meaning. A gay life style is not "morally straight." Societal mores may change. But the truth does not...and you do not advance the truth by giving in to or accepting such behavior or inclinations and trying to call them "normal," or okay.
The homosexual community is now going to recruit 16-17 year old boys to become open members of the scouting organization. I do not want my 12-14 year old grandsons, or any other youth exposed to such individuals on campouts. Plain and simple. Not worth the risk.
If you think this will not be discussed, and that such kids will not promote that life-style through conversations at such events...you are deluding yourselves.
My church, the LDS Church, will continue with the scout program within its own congregations until and unless they accept adult leaders who are homosexual. That is what the Church has indicated is its line. The Church teaches that homosexuals can be members of the church as long as they are celebate in these desires. In other words, they can have urges, but if they resist temptation and rely on the atonementof Christ, then they can be members in good standing as much as a heterosexual who does not commit fornication or adultery.
While I can understand this, and agree with it spiritually when it comes to young people who are serious about trying to overcome this deviant lifestyle...for the reasons I just enumerated I cannot support it within the scouts. The Boy Scouts are a seperate, private organization apart from the church, whom seek my private support. I will no longer give it.
I simply cannot, and will not risk that set of circumstances on my own grandkids, or anyone else's if I can help it. And I can help it by not supporting either materially, monetarily, or with my time an organization that has decided to abdicate the moral high ground in order to retain large donations from organizations that have already embraced this homosexual agenda and its strawman "sexual orientation" argurment, or who would avoid adverse public relations pressure from the homosexual community. Make no mistake, those are precisely the issues in play here. As I said, the truth is the truth, and despite million dollar donations, or adverse publicity,"morally straight," means something. Something intrinsic that cannot and must not be auctioned off.

America is at the Crossroads of History, we cannot, and will not choose the right path if we abdicate eternal principles in order to avoid criticism by the liberal progressive elements in today's society who believe in amorality, and a moving set of societal mores. Our nation, our people, have been great historically precisely because we as a people, from our founding, embraced and upheld fundamental moral principal as enumerated to us through the Gosepl of Jesus Christ. Tolerant? yes. Abidating those pricniples to those who reject them? No.
God bless us as a people to return to our roots, and to elect individuals of high moral standing and courage who will hold those lines.

Not so much- conservative donators have pledged to withdraw their financial support- Thee were soem pretty big conservative donators who were a major part of their finacial viability- now they will hopefully withdraw their support- However, I’m sure big liberal grouops will fill the gap- but at least they will all be donating to their own demise while the TRUE SCOUTS OF AMERICA will begin to thrive and flourish in a moral environment unpolluted by poitical correctness crap
I will be taking my shipping business elsewhere. There's a list of many of their donors who took up names and signatures for them to allow this new direction. Wait until that list is shared on the net/the news. Like another person posted, I have instructed my attorney to remove Boy Scouts from my will.

I havne’t figured out if B.O’s ultimate loyalty is to the communists, or if he has been “using” them to gain power but his ultimate plan is to allow Muslim Brotherhood infiltration and finally complete takeover by Islam and Sharia law. The more I learn about what was going on in Benghazi, the more I think that.

The sale of the children to homosexuals is the ultimate in pimping, and a microcosm of the sex trade. Once again, it is the Johns who pocket the money, and they send out the innocents to be whored to the homosexuals. Because the last time that homosexuals were in the Scouts, it turned out so very well, with billions spent on legal fees, judgments and settlements for the victims (and mostly their lawyers) of homosexuals in the past.
How did all this happen? It was simple, actually. In the middle 1970’s, a small group decided that Scouting would benefit from a strong central leadership. They began training programs to normalize leadership, and to instill the belief that professional scouts would lead to a better experience for youth. As that group grew, they began joining the executive committees for councils. And through that, began collectivizing the trust funds that were the main source of funds for troops.
After all, a professional structure would be better suited to look after those funds, and distribute them properly. Councils took over camps, stating that the individual fundraising to keep camps open were too much of a burden, they could handle it much more effectively. Council offices were opened, with full time staff, to see to the needs of the executive committee, and provide services for the troops in the council.
And for a very short term, these efforts yielded results - funds grew, benefits were offered, salaries were raised, retirements were established. To make scouting more uniform, family businesses that had yielded floor space to scouting merchandise were told that they could no longer sell the merchandise, that the council would handle that. More staff was hired to handle those sales, to merchandise.
Then the lawsuits started, bankrupting councils in a short period. Troops were told they had to raise funds for their council. For the first time, scouts went to their family, friends and neighbors not to pay for a campout, but to pay for someone’s salary. No longer was it about the youth, but it was about the adults and what they could leech from the organization.
And this week, this decision, is the culmination of what happens when a volunteer organization turns professional. The order from upon high that all troops are to welcome with open arms those who profess to be homosexual into the organization.
And when those predators start feasting on the innocent youth, and troops start ejecting those predators, the lawsuits will start again, this time for persecuting homosexuals for simply being homosexual. Those suits will be against individual leaders, with no defense from councils who will distance themselves from these lawsuits.
Troops have long ejected members who have engaged in sexual behaviors, in and out of scouting. But now, only heterosexuals will be permitted to be ejected for those actions, as doing so for a homosexual is simply discriminatory. A suppression of homosexual expression.
After a few are utterly bankrupted defending themselves, other scoutmasters and troop boards will see the futility, and permit the activities. They'll quietly tell themselves that it is just experimenting, boys being boys, and turn a blind eye to homosexuals creating the next generation. The only reproduction that homosexuals are truly aiming for, that of recruiting and converting more to join them, and become victims of older predators.
Why doesn’t some high placed exec who made Eagle Scout just start another group?
