The prime minister has said the public want to see armed forces members in their uniforms - after advice to conceal them in public was relaxed.
A defence source had told the BBC the advice was a "common sense" step during the Woolwich attack investigation.
But the advice was later relaxed following a review, said the MoD.
In a message to forces personnel, David Cameron said: "The British public love our armed forces; they love them being in the public eye."'

If soldiers want to go off base in uniform, they should. They should also be allowed to carry loaded sidearms as part of their uniforms. If that man could have defended himself, there would be two dead “Asians” lying in the street instead of him. And he wouldn’t have danced in the blood.

Pretty much certain it is both against UK military regs and civilian law for UK military members to carry knives offbase if the knife isn’t justified by job description and is in transit between employment and residence.
Mind you that is for a small pocket knife.

I think they should wear their uniforms. It was the UK government that said they shouldn’t, until the backlash made them switch back.
I propose a “wear BDU’s to work day” worldwide, in order to let the godless Muslim pukes know that this will not be tolerated and if a fight is what they want, a fight is what they shall get!
