Advice to armed forces personnel not to wear uniforms in public has been relaxed, the Ministry of Defence says.
'A defence source had said advice to conceal uniforms was a "common sense" measure while the Woolwich attack investigation went on.
But the MoD said that after a review of the situation, a decision was taken to relax some precautions.
This included advice to personnel in London not to wear uniform outside defence establishments, it went on.'

It’s been the rule since before DHS around here. If you are a in law enforcement, it doesn’t apply. Even the SEALs here do not carry on base.
Wearing the uniform in the USA allows me to profile and target service members for a handshake and a well-deserved “Thank you.”.
The victim in yesterday's terror attack was wearing a t-shirt with the Help for Heroes logo on it.
Cameron may as well hand out abayas and burkhas for everyone to avoid offending members of the perpetually offended cult of Islam.
Instead, every patriotic citizen of Britain should don a uniform or the colours of St. George and organize a mass march against Cameron's dhimmi suggestions demanding NO SHARIAH in ENGLAND EVER!

The Daily Mail is stating that Cameron overruled the advice this morning.
Thank you. It isn’t the sort of advice I’d expect to instill a whole lot of confidence in a government.
