Advice to armed forces personnel not to wear uniforms in public has been relaxed, the Ministry of Defence says.
'A defence source had said advice to conceal uniforms was a "common sense" measure while the Woolwich attack investigation went on.
But the MoD said that after a review of the situation, a decision was taken to relax some precautions.
This included advice to personnel in London not to wear uniform outside defence establishments, it went on.'

Note well that they are not to carry sidearms - only hide their identities.
The essence of modernist dogma.
in the 80’s they told us about wearing our informs in public .OMG the public can’t find out we have a Military
I find it hard to believe that we live in a world where a government, at any time, would advise soldiers to hide their uniforms while among the civilian population of their own country.
Guess the real occupy crowd won.
“Run away! Run away!”
Exactly as I predicted yesterday:
By blaming this on the uniform, it sounds as though the Brits are going to try to pin this terrorist act on “workplace violence” too. There’s a lot of that going around.
They should be proud of their uniforms, travel at least in pairs, and be fully armed and ready to shoot the bastards.
To come out of a military area, young, probably looking fit, and in street clothes is absurd. Put on your uniforms, carry loaded weapons, travel at least in pairs, and kill the sons of bitches if approached.
Whatever happened to the pride of UK? Imagine being afraid of the Nazis like this. Incredible lack of common sense.
As I understand it, the victim wasn’t in uniform.
Our soldiers aren’t allowed to be armed either.
“Our soldiers arent allowed to be armed either.”
True, but at least our laws allow commanders to authorize military service members to carry. Of course our PC military is too chicken to do it.
The land of my ancestors has fallen.
God save them.
On the other hand, most of the country allows civilians to carry in one form or another.
Unless you live in a military town. Men and women in uniform is the norm in Tidewater Va
.....Meanwhile, suburbs of Stockholm, Sweeden continue to burn for the fourth straight night as Sweedish youth continue their rampage
That, too. An attack in many places would result in a CCW taking a shot.
No one can be armed on base in the Tidewater Va area, can’t even have a weapon in your vehicle, locked up. Sucks if you want to go to the range after work and it’s on the way home.
I wonder if such rules apply to DHS personnel. Is our government trying to emasculate the Armed Services while arming the DHS?
Muslos knew this soldier was in the process of making a video so they preemptively took him out. Westerners are so vile and racist you know. (sarc)
It’s been the rule since before DHS around here. If you are a in law enforcement, it doesn’t apply. Even the SEALs here do not carry on base.
Wearing the uniform in the USA allows me to profile and target service members for a handshake and a well-deserved “Thank you.”.
The victim in yesterday's terror attack was wearing a t-shirt with the Help for Heroes logo on it.
Cameron may as well hand out abayas and burkhas for everyone to avoid offending members of the perpetually offended cult of Islam.
Instead, every patriotic citizen of Britain should don a uniform or the colours of St. George and organize a mass march against Cameron's dhimmi suggestions demanding NO SHARIAH in ENGLAND EVER!
In any other time in history that would have been an idiotic prediction, worthy of a Monty Python skit. Wow, complete Dhimmis. I’m amazed that I’m shocked.
Your soldiers arent either, yes?.
So what does that make you?.
Britain is not England.
Sorry, I was referring to soldiers being armed.
I’m guessing the measure was not met with universal approval?
The Daily Mail is stating that Cameron overruled the advice this morning.
Thank you. It isn’t the sort of advice I’d expect to instill a whole lot of confidence in a government.
Oy, I anticipated at some point in time, someone, particularly a Scot would hash me out on this frequently mistated anomaly. Point taken.
Obama blames terrorism on the internet apparently
