Inside the Progressive Mind (Inside Every Liberal Is a Totalitarian Screaming to Get Out)

The Progressive believes in precisely two things: his own magnificence and the constructive power of brute force. In combination, they lead him naturally from the role of pestiferous busybody to brutal dictator. Where the productive man dreams of the things he might create if only left alone by his fellows, the Progressive dreams of the world he could create if only the lives and property of his fellows were at his disposal. The roots of his pathology lie in that oldest and most destructive of all human vices, the desire for the power to rule over other men.

As naked power-lust is a rather ugly motive, the Progressive rationalizes his desire to rule as a concern for human welfare, seeing himself as a great humanitarian, far superior morally to the lesser beings who pursue merely “materialist” ends such as their own prosperity and who frequently object to his program for achieving Utopia. This assumed moral superiority spills over into fields of practical accomplishment, and the Progressive imagines himself capable of allocating resources and even directing entire industries far more efficiently than a free market, often despite not even having any business or scientific experience. But despite what the Progressive believes about himself, the desire to compel others to obey his orders is what drives him forward. To satisfy this desire, there is ultimately no limit to what actions he will take, for he respects none of the restrictions on government officials intended to guarantee individual freedom that have been developed and set forth in written or unwritten constitutions.

Many bloggers wouldn’t know a thesis statement if it bit them in the butt!!! The guy who wrote this is up there in a group that would include Michelle Malkin and Mark Steyn as thought leaders that can really turn a phrase to keep you reading for more. I also appreciate Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell for turning economics into readable prose.

leaving the question to each person for their conscientious consideration.

To me, it's murder.

And?

Once again, the LP National Party is not the final arbiter of all libertarian thought and philosophy. Continuing to try and use them as such is idiotic.

I was thinking Dick Gephardt.

Yeah, it isn't one of Bosch's greatest paintings, although I generally admire his work.

Thanks Ted Kennedy and Joe Biden, you are personally opposed to abortion but you fight tooth and nail to promote politics to keep it totally unlimited and unrestrained and done by the millions and to protect it from being outlawed by conservatives, of course the same applies to the homosexual agenda for you.

Not at all. In fact, I want Roe V Wade over turned and the States to prosecute it under their Murder statutes. Planned Parenthood should be defunded and disbanded under RICO. More prosecutions of abortion providers should result in many more convictions like the recent one and hopefully even some Death sentences handed out to the perpetrators.

All of the above is consistent with objectivist/libertarian philosophy.

And no... The mental illness known as "homosexuality" cannot be normalized. Nor should it be used to over-write any Religions tenets as it is being done.

To sum up, you are still an idiot that has no clue what you are talking about.

Nobody cares about your personal fantasies and beliefs, they care about your promoting and lying about the libertarian agenda in protecting unlimited abortion and the homosexual agenda.

For instance you lied in post 39, claiming" The LP takes a “no stance, but we think it should be a States issue and not Federal” position."

Here is what you are promoting and lying about. http://www.lp.org/platform

1.4 Abortion
Recognizing that abortion is a sensitive issue and that people can hold good-faith views on all sides, we believe that government should be kept out of the matter, leaving the question to each person for their conscientious consideration.

Here is the libertarian view on homosexuals in the military and marriage, etc. including federal.

1.3 Personal Relationships
Sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the government's treatment of individuals, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption, immigration or military service laws. Government does not have the authority to define, license or restrict personal relationships. Consenting adults should be free to choose their own sexual practices and personal relationships.

Apparently, you do. You keep trying to paint me with a brush that doesn't have any paint on it...

Republican - We’re moral, so we’ll force you to be moral too.

See post 48, your libertarian agenda is obscene and anti-conservative and you are correct about it being immoral.

What "obscenity" was involved when the GOP created the DHS and the TSA?

How "conservative" was it when they banned androstendione and it's derivatives under the same classification as cocaine? Completely absent Constitutional authority and under the penumbra of "saving" professional sports?

I rest my case.

Not MY "libertarian" anything. You can keep trying to define my position for me, but this won't make you in any way correct.

Since you fight tooth and nail, lie, evade, and relentlessly promote and defend libertarianism, then you share that agenda and their goals.

You are a dedicated warrior for them.

then you share that agenda...

Oh heavens. How dastardly...

How dare I be for smaller more Constitutional government, lower taxes, more individual responsibility, and principled freedom for all. How dare I promote a pro-life, pro-private property, free market, pro-Bill of Rights agenda...

I am a dedicated warrior only for those principles our Country was founded upon.

You are just an inveterate troll.

Abortion and the homosexual agenda are dastardly political goals, libertarian goals.

As I have proven, the LP, does take a stance, it is fundamental to their belief system, zero restrictions on abortion and total homosexuality in the federal military and immigration laws, and in marriage, etc.

Abortion and the homosexual agenda are dastardly political goals, Democrat goals.

Fixed it for you.

Also, you keep conflating the LP with libertarianism... I'm not the only philosophical objectivist/libertarian that has issues with where the political Party has drifted off to.

As I have already proven.

Troll on little troll...

Your dishonesty is staggering, the libertarian party has never “drifted off to” anything, it has always been the same, although you blatantly lied about their abortion position in your post 39 when you “conflated” the LP with their and your ideology, libertarianism.

There was never a time when the libertarians were not pro-abortion, that is yet another lie that you want to try, they were pro-abortion before Roe V Wade.

http://www.libertarianfaq.org/index.php?title=Are_libertarians_pro_choice_or_pro_life%3F

Pay attention to this part...

“Nearly all Libertarians, however, believe that the government has no business subsidizing or funding abortions through welfare or other social schemes. “

Which automatically makes us more “conservative” than some GOP members who wouldn’t touch such a stance with a ten foot pole.

Further... Pay attention to the wikipedia article on this as well...

To whit:

“Opposition to legal abortion

The group Libertarians for Life argues that humans in the zygotic, embryonic, and fetal stages of development have the same rights as humans in the neonatal stage and beyond. The organization notes that the principles of both the U.S. Libertarian Party and Objectivist ethics require some obligation to children and counter with an appeal to the non-aggression principle:

Non-aggression is an ongoing obligation: it is never optional for anyone, even pregnant women. If the non-aggression obligation did not apply, then earning money versus stealing it and consensual sex versus rape would be morally indifferent behaviors. The obligation not to aggress is pre-political and pre-legal. It does not arise out of contract, agreement, or the law; rather, such devices presuppose this obligation. The obligation would exist even in a state of nature. This is because the obligation comes with our human nature, and we acquire this nature at conception.[3]

Libertarian Republican United States House of Representatives’ member Ron Paul calls for overturning Roe v. Wade and letting the states decide the issue. His son, Republican Senator Rand Paul, calls himself “totally pro-life” and supports “any and all legislation that would end abortion or lead us in the direction of ending abortion.”[17] In 2008, the Libertarian Party candidate for president was Bob Barr who has called abortion “murder” and opposed legalized abortion.[18][19]”

So yeah... You are still just a trolling moron.
