Rand Paul: My colleagues just voted to arm the allies of Al-Queda
Foreign Policy ^ | 05/21/13 | John Hudson

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) blasted members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Tuesday, which voted overwhelmingly to arm elements of the Syrian opposition in a bill co-sponsored by Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN). "This is an important moment," Paul said, addressing his Senate colleagues. "You will be funding, today, the allies of al Qaeda. It's an irony you cannot overcome."

I am tired of people that refuse to admit the facts in front of their face. Sick of it. And I am not going to stand by and worship people that take turns playing ring around the RINO.

Today Paul is Uberconservative Man and tomorrow he praises the Gang of Ocho. Next Week Ryan will pretend he didn’t disavow his homo positions on adoption to wail for the sanctity of Marriage.

Wake the hell up people.

After his Pigford performance you mean? He has many good qualities. But that vote and his excuses were pure BS. Expensive race VS.

I’m with you on that, SoConPubbie—any great stand that Rand or Ted Cruz or even Palin from Alaska might take will be undone irreparably into the future if the let comprehensive amnesty pass, and yet that’s in essence what they are allowing.

The perfect is the enemy of the good.

Conservatives appear to have not figured out that politics is a game of addition, not division. As long as the purity test eliminates all but a few thousand righteous from consideration we are doomed to lose elections.

Find me the conservatism in Romney’s record.

Find me the conservatism in gay adpoption.

Find me the conservatism in ‘comprehensive immigration reform”

Find me the conservative in selling out to gay marriage.

Find me the conservatism in a multimillion dollar campaign to attack and discredit conservative candidates in a primary.

Find me the conservative in turning the Alynski hit machine on Palin.

Find me the conservative in trading the lives of babied for votes.

Find me the conservative in any of these very real actions by the GOP and you have a leg to stand on.

The opposite of purity os corruption. We ‘purists’ will settle for the traditional 80% figure. Nothing above approaches that.

Yes, though, Pigford didn’t bother me much. His vote on the NDAA, was a definite illusion breaker. My hopes are not carried easily, as basic as they may seem.

I think he is a good man. But he definitely has some issues as a pol to get sorted.

Very witty and clever poem.
Sadly very true. My faith is in the Almighty and corrupt government by men can rot in hades.

Thanks. I’m sure I’ll wake up to a lot of hate mail and fits over it. But it’s the truth. And I’ve long since stopped caring what the psuedocons it targets think of anything I have to say.

The amnesty bill will arm even more of them. We’ll get more Boston Marathon bombers when we let all the illegals stay and they start collecting welfare in greater numbers.

I’d like to see some combination of Paul/Palin/Bachmann running in 2016.

"He's been awfully quiet about it for some time now.

That is because he does not support the gang of 8 plan. He is strong on "enforcement first" and "no new pathway to citizenship" he also opposes any social benefits (welfare, food stamps, etc) to illegals. Pauls' position on illegal immigration is very close to Cruz and far far from Rubios'.

I read it! Yes, we have become sound bite nation and I can be just as guilty as the next person. It’s easy to read a one-liner post. The long ones, like your or like this one, can look intimidating.

I’m not an expert on Rand Paul, but just posted positively about him on this thread before reading down the comment list. I did not realize he was in favor of amnesty, which I am against.

So far, I still think he speaks honestly and is not afraid to stand up to the establishment of either party and not afraid to speak his mind. Those are 3 major qualities I am looking for in a Presidential candidate.

If he favors amnesty, I will have to reconsider my opinion of him. I do not expect to agree with any candidate on every issue, but amnesty is pretty serious.

It’s complex and I think there is room for some sort of sensible plan, but I haven’t heard one yet. I am against any plan that rewards illegals, fails to close the border, makes illegals eligible for welfare and other benefits, etc. I might, repeat *might*, consider something that makes them pay taxes and makes them ineligible for any financial benefit for at least 3 generations and/or 50 years.

Is there a conservative platform somewhere? A tea party platform? We need a list of issues to rate candidates on. I don’t expect perfection or agreement, but I do want someone who is strong on the big issues. I want the conservative who will “fundamentally change” America by putting us on a path back to the republic we have lost.

Here is my starter list of issues:
1. Repeal 0bamacare.
2. Repeal the income tax.
3. Abolish the IRS.
4. Stop bailing out the “too big to fail” companies.
5. Abolish government unions.
6. Require “skin in the game” in order to vote. The framers required land ownership. That worked in an agricultural society. We need the 21st century equivalent.
7. No amnesty.
8. Start profiling and stop groping citizens at airports.
9. Get rid of DHS?
10. Prosecute all the corrupt officials (both parties) and take away their pensions.
11. Have states choose senators, not popular vote.

Sorry for the rant that was tangential to the originial topic.

He is not in favor of amnesty, go to his web site then decide if he is wrong on illegal immigration. The hate of the father is now aimed at the son. It is totally irrational since Paul is one of our finest conservative Senators.

Friggin’ insanity.

Here we go into another quagmire. The “Free Syrian Army” is comprised of jihadis on par with al-Qaeda. This will not end well.

God help the Christians community in Syria.

Amen to that. After what those ferals have said about Christians and their open intent to turn Syria into a hardcore islamist state, this is going to turn very, very ugly.
