I once had a young "woman" make snide remarks when I opened a door for her. I asked her if maybe I should let her open the door for me. She said I could shove it because she wouldn't do that. I then told her that it was a good thing I was willing to open it or we'd both be stuck outside together and enough of her mouth would cause me to break a cardinal rule about hitting the weaker sex. I had a great day after that but I would guess she spewed bile for most of it.

I am of the elder generation and I do it quite often, usually get a ‘Thank You!’ in return, but this is in redneck Texas...
