I’d take Major Strasser any day over the IRS.

This is complete oppression , tyranny and rigging an election. OBama’s IRS basically shut down the tea party to rig the election:

U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) told the tale of one of his constituents who applied for tax-exempt status for her Tea Party group in July 2010. Twenty months later she got her first response from the IRS, a letter with dozens of questions. She answered them all, but she’s still waiting for approval. However, during the intervening three years she was visited by the FBI’s domestic terrorism unit, had four additional FBI inquiries, had both her personal and business taxes audited and been the subject of an OSHA inspection.

Yes that guy was sickening.

I wish they could just tell the capitol police to haul him to jail until he’s ready to talk.

You know I’m kind of surprised to see some Dems come down on “our side”. I think it’s because they know that if the regime gets away with this that sooner or later [probably much sooner] the shoe will be on the other foot.

The IRS, EPA, OSHA, CIA [yes, the spooks are pissed] etc will come down HARD on any organization or any individual who the new admin wants to silence. For example, this ahole today who didn’t remember anything and was nonchalant about this terrible moment in American history.

But next time it will be worse - people won’t just be silenced, they’ll be ruined. Homes forclosed, bank accounts frozen, ... and not just of the particular individual either. His family members, friends, associates will be ruined too.

I think the dems don’t want that. I don’t either - but I PROMISE you that if the people responsible for this don’t go to jail, it will happen.

This single case proves that it was not just a couple of "rogue agents" at the IRS. It was the IRS, the FBU, and OSHA. Who has the power to set all of these agencies against a single person? No single low level individual could get an agency outside their chain of command to target one particular individual.

I would love to see the files that the IRS has on FReepers. How many of us are on their target list? Who will be next? There is no more powerful agency on Earth than the IRS and what they can do without the need for a court order and due process.

18 USC 1001: it is a felony to lie to a employee of the federal government but it is no crime at all for them to lie to the citizens. So, the government gives itself a pass and holds citizens to a standard of conduct it will not honor itself. We saw this last week in the prideful answers the outgoing IRS Commissioner gave in the Congressional hearing.

At the very moment he gets to say “I don’t know” when asked pointed questions, somewhere in the country his own tax auditors would be fired if they gave a similar pass to a citizen whose tax returns they were auditing.

So, we now have a government where high officials give each other a pass for outrageous behavior, and we have a government that can print or borrow all the money it needs to function. We have a government that is increasingly disconnected from the taxpayers because it makes its own money. This is Leviathan, a government of few limits. It is attempting to secure the citizen in a cage. We must put government back in the chains of the Constitution before it is too late.

When you fill an agency with Obama’s people you get an Obama agency.

I know a kid who works for Government who is afraid to mention his political persuasion at work because he is surrounded by Obama voters.

In 1913, the 16th Amendment gave the government the power to levy an income tax, and saddled the American people with the most burdensome, intrusive and abuse-prone revenue-generating system imaginable. (It bears noting that the federal income tax is a product of the same Progressive Era of American history that gave us Prohibition.)

Given that it was imposed by constitutional amendment, one cannot argue that the income tax is unconstitutional per se. But certainly, it is at odds with the spirit, if not the letter, of many of our most basic constitutional rights.

Consider that the income tax system has the following attributes:

 Notwithstanding our 5th Amendment rights against self-incrimination, as well as our 9th Amendment right to privacy (see Roe v. Wade), the government requires us to provide a tax return signed under penalty of perjury, in which we are obligated to provide detailed testimony regarding every aspect of our financial activities and relationships, legal or otherwise.

 Notwithstanding our 4th Amendment rights against search and seizure, any American citizen is subject at any time -- even in the complete absence of probable cause – to an intrusive federal audit in which the government has the unmitigated right to demand and search our private papers and financial records.

 Notwithstanding our 5th Amendment rights against seizure of our property without due process, the government can seize and hold our financial assets indefinitely without a trial.

 The complexity of the Tax Code generally requires that Americans hire professional advice, often at significant expense, to help ensure compliance.

 The Tax Code is so complex that its meaning is not always clear even to experts or employees of the federal government, and its enforcement may be subject to arbitrary interpretation by federal employees who may, in fact, disagree with each other.

 The income tax requires citizens to bear the burden of preparing, maintaining, storing and recovering voluminous sets of records over a period of years, where such records otherwise have no useful purpose except to assist the government in enforcing the tax code against the citizen.

 The Tax Code provides our federal legislators with a means of bestowing specifically targeted benefits on favored special interests.

You can’t indict a department for corruption.

To borrow a phrase from the de facto president: "Yes we can!"

The IRS is intrinsically corrupt. Shut it down!

One can wish that the republicans would go to war...start indicting people, jailing them for perjury, shine a high powered beam on these cockroaches until they give up the truth...

Impeaching Obama is almost second riddle to cleaning house in the various politicized federal agencies to rebuild their credibility and the trust of the american people...

Maybe Congress should start requiring that any correspondence sent out from the IRS must have a contact name on it or the recipient can simply ignore it.

This “Who?” isn't new. A bunch of murderous, razor wielding Muslims got on a few planes and the rest is history and no one at any point said “WHO let them on the plane?”.

What do you call an administration that uses the IRS, EPA, OSHA, CIA to silence and cripple their political opponents?

Hope and change.

Liberals/progressives never think the tactics they invent and use will ever be used against them.

Because they do it for the children...

Those rogue agents were busy.

Let’s get some names and get this show on the road.

BTW, I liked that “I would be shocked,” non-denial denial.
