NBC's Lisa Myers reported this morning that the IRS deliberately chose not to reveal that it had wrongly targeted conservative groups until after the 2012 presidential election:

Right. Why would it surprise anyone on FR that the Rove White House would want to persecute actual conservatives? No doubt IRS stooges would be happy to cooperate, bipartisanship and all, ya know.
And why didn’t it come out until now? Perhaps if a global news organization like NBC had pursued stronger investigative journalism it may have. If they had showed the same zeal and vigor before the election the way they tore apart the lives of SRah Palin and Joe the Plumber.
But of course, that may have damaged their lord and savior’s chance at reelection. They would - and have done - anything to prevent that up to and including shredding any journalistic ethics they had left.
She’s still scum. This revelation moment changes nothing because in 2016, she’ll be just as willfully blind. Believing otherwise is folly.

So why are they doing it now with Benghazi heating up? Perhaps they are trying to dilute Benghazi with other scandals. This would only work with a Democrat.

As I have warned another poster on the Rush thread, with the TP movement having been a pressure release valve, to resolve it peacefully, the reality of a possible future violent revolt down the road has gone up more likely down the road.
W gave big budget increases to the IRS. He gave most federal agencies their own police force. The Department of Education can now kick down your door. The GOPe has a lot of friends in Big Government.
Isn’t it odd the IRS apologized to begin with? Call me cynical, but what if this IRS thing really isn’t a scandal? That perhaps the ‘right-wingers’ are just being set up to appear to be on a witch hunt to diffuse the Benghazi situation? If no wrong doing is found with the IRS processing of groups, then right-wingers would lose their credibility. This would be the Marxists way of getting out of Benghazi.
He cannot be taken down because he was legally prepared for these scandals ahead of time and he will not resign because he’s too arrogant. We’re stuck with him until the end of his term. JMHO.

There is too much beating around the bush here. To resolve the issue now that the IRS is out of the picture, there will be physical threats, violence, death.
To put it to rest there must be massive death in the Chicago thuggery.

I’m really sick of the O Administration’s repeated “nobody told me” excuse for everything. It reminds me of Al Gore’s “the team decided it while I was taking a wizz and I didn’t find out for 3 months”. Way to admit that you sit and vegetate in meetings (probably plays games on his cell phone) and have the situational awareness of a lamppost.
Any program manager on earth would be fired for even trying to float such an excuse but the VP and President of the United States get a pass repeatedly. Makes me want to barf.
