The author is wrong. The new tax for not having health coverage will first appear on the 2014 tax return which most people will file in the spring of 2015.

I am a tax preparer for one of the largest tax preparation companies. At least half of my clients had not heard about this tax. I could tell by their reaction that many of them voted for Obozo. I stay away from politics with my clients but I could tell that many were having second thoughts about Obamacare.

Unfortunately, the mid term elections wll occur before that.

If it had occurred a year earlier, the 2014 elections would be a bloodletting.

Your clients will find that the fine for not having healthcare coverage is just about what the average tax refund is now.

That’s one of the reasons the IRS is doing Healthcare work.

But, if I am not mistaken, people will start seeing the premiums go up in Jan 14. That will generate some backlash.
