Anger? Wait 'til people do their taxes next year ...
American Thinker ^ | 05/16/2013 | Silvio Canto Jr.

In about 9 months, Americans will come face to face with ObamaCare. It will happen when they sit down to fill out their tax returns. My guess is that most people will be angry.

ObamaCare and the IRS will work hand in hand in the implementation of the law, as Byron York points out today:

"A look at the text of the health care law reveals that much of it consists of amending the Internal Revenue Code to give the IRS more power. When Obamacare goes fully into effect in January, every American will have to prove to the IRS that he or she has "qualifying" health coverage, meaning coverage with a list of features approved by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. That will be done by submitting a document to the IRS, something like a W-2, to confirm coverage."

There is more. In simple language, the IRS will be the manager of the new law.

The IRS will ask you questions that you thought heretofore belonged in the very confidential relationship between doctors and patients.

The IRS will also need to hear about "raises" and changes in your financial condition.

Didn't a bunch of colonists throw tea in the harbor the last time that something like this happenned?

The IRS and HHS will monitor the people through a "database," or a huge intrusion into your personal, financial and health information.

Again, my good guess is that most Democrats who voted for this monstrosity will shut off their phones next spring. They won't like what voters are telling them.

America is finished.

Not yet. I'm still breathing and I still have bullets in my gun...

As long as one such person does, there is still hope.

I am not alone.

I can’t tell you how sick I am of abject defeatism on FR, always stated with 100% certainty.

South Carolina offers some hope -

“Obamacare is unconstitutional and will not be implemented, either by people of this state or by the federal government, under penalty of arrest.”

Ought to be interesting to see what happens in such States when the IRS starts asking about compliance come tax season...

The states that do this will have to step up and shield their citizens.

Federal income taxes in a state escrow might be the next step.

Make no mistake Ubomba is only a figure head. He alone can do nothing to affect our lives. When Washington looked around at his bleak landscape he also saw his countrymen who surrounded him. He saw good, moral men who believed in something. He saw virtuous people fighting for what is right.

I feel no desparation when I look at Ubomba. I feel completely lost when I see my countrymen who elected him to office TWICE.

We have lost. The Constitution is meaningless. This grand experiment in liberty is over.

Sorry if you don't like how that feels but read my tagline.

If we had a real opposition party they would be pushing for the end of the IRS.

No time better than now. Guess we'll have to do it ourselves.

This is false.

"Opposition Party"? Not from the GOP-e. Too many oxen would get gored on both sides for either Party to want any meaningful reform.

TEA Party take-over is the next best chance.

What is this all about? I have not heard anything about this?

This is a B.S. article. Of course the IRS wants to know about changes to your income. They always have and always will.

I suspect the anger will set in well before that — like during health insurance open enrollment in October/November. Wait until they get a whiff of those premium hikes.

Traitor!

A lot of people think he was blackmailed. He first voted to declare obammacare illegal, then between that vote and the official announcement months later, he changed his mind. Some think it has to do with the feds looking into his adoption records of his 2 adopted foreign children.

Sometimes I wonder if we are finished as a country and when you look out at the landscape, it seems hopeless. Then I think about how Washington must have felt in those cold winters when his men were cold, starving, not paid, and the morale was low.

It's an apt analogy, and I do understand how some could have become so demoralized, that they're now convinced of the enemy's omnipotence. But it's not true. The enemies of this country aren't omnipotent by a long shot. Not even close.

They're a tragic bunch of total incompetents, who just happen to be sitting in stations of great power and influence. It doesn't mean they can even shoot straight - and they can't. Just look at the mess they're making of every single thing they touch.

An angry, resolute, and fearless group of Americans who won't back down, is all it will take to make these dumb bells start walking into lamp posts and oncoming traffic.

The only thing carrying this administration is a cheerleading press and to a lesser extent, a confused GOP. Nothing more. And that can only go on for so long

Well, there are also the 'faithful' in government, academia, and the online left-wing culture which help to prop it up.

But you're right. It takes a lot of work on the part of Barry's cheerleaders to keep him from sinking. A great President wouldn't need anyone's help to garner true admiration and loyalty from the people.
