The IRS?
It’s about a union: the National Treasury Employees Union. The NTEU. A left-wing union representing 150,000 employees in 31 separate government agencies, including the IRS. A union that not only endorsed President Obama for election and re-election, but a union whose current president, Colleen Kelly, was a 14-year IRS agent and now is both union president and Obama administration appointee (of which more in a moment).
It’s about 94% of NTEU union contributions going to Democrats in the Senate and House in 2012 — candidates who campaigned as vociferous opponents of the Tea Party.
And the recently released report from the Treasury Inspector General? You will not find a single reference to the NTEU. Whose members are both player and referee in the exploding controversy over the IRS targeting of conservative groups.
Which raises the obvious question: how many NTEU members were involved in the writing of the Inspector General’s report?
Even more to the point, what contact — what coordination — has the Obama White House had with their allies in the NTEU leadership as both the White House and the NTEU race to get on top of a scandal that is rapidly engulfing both?
Did I mention that the NTEU has no comment on all of this? And that when President Obama went in front of cameras to make his statement on the IRS scandal — he never once mentioned his very powerful union buddies that have the run of the IRS? Right down to the control of who gets a Blackberry? Literally.
Let’s first see how the IRS/NTEU game with the Tea Party and conservatives is played, shall we?

The compulsory collection of union dues from unwilling workers is only one of the more egregious examples of public financing of the left but even that is exceeded by public funding of Planned Parenthood.
If we win this battle about the IRS and the public sector union no longer can distort the IRS to suppress free conservative speech, we will not have won a victory, we will merely have leveled the playing field. The left will go on to tilt the field elsewhere.
Imagine a situation where unionized prison guards are going to be laid off due to a falling prison population. They can coordinate with unionized police and court employees to correct the problem.
Its not far fetched at all. When prison guards here in Michigan were going to be laid off, Jenny Granholm made a deal with Arnold Schwarzenegger to import California prison inmates. California couldn’t pay us so Granholm just dumped the cost on Michigan taxpayers.
The best solution to that, AFAIC, is for conservative states to strictly enforce the 10th amendment,
and for people to vote with their feet.
One can only hope...and pray,,,and do everything in our power to make it so.
My gosh, these leftist are like termites; they eat the wood from inside out, and all looks good until it snaps and collapses.
I can’t believe how naive I have been about so much of this. In the back of my head I kept trying to figure out how this could possibly have happened at any major scale within the IRS. It must, by necessity, be neutral politically. Without this knowledge it seems plausible that this was a rogue set of individuals. But understanding this changes everything I assumed (wittingly or not) to be true about the situation.
If we are not emboldened to act by what we are seeing I fear nothing can wake us from this slumber.
This is getting to the point now where alone these scandals are huge but together so egregious that the administration must be severely toppled or neutered. If they somehow manage to push everything aside and go on as they have they will double down and what is then to stop them from going full crazy communist.V. Jarret said they don’t forget who is with them and against them - revenge will be their instinctual proclivity.
When there is no justice or repercussions for corruption then the people fear the government and the government becomes more abusive of it’s citizens. As in the old USSR. Definitely the perfect storm in the next 12 months.

Colleen M. Kelley, president of the National Treasury Employees Union, said their support of Obama was never in question, as union members believe that Obama “has stood with federal employees 90% of the time.”
“President Obama recognizes the work that federal employees do,” said Kelley, whose union endorsed Obama. “You didn’t have to look very far on the Romney-Ryan plate to see how they valued federal workers.”

Kelley said she predicts the attacks on workers’ pay and benefits will “unfortunately continue.”
“Most of it came out of the House, and people like Paul Ryan, who passed his budget through the House, put a very big target on the back of federal employees. Kelley said. “And he’s still in Congress.”
Kelley said her No. 1 issue right now is getting federal worker salaries unfrozen on Jan. 1, even if that means working out a deal later in the year and making pay hikes retroactive to Jan. 1.

Employees at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau aren’t just looking out for consumers’ interests — they’re looking out for their own jobs, too.
The agency’s workforce voted last week to join the National Treasury Employees Union, a federal union that also represents employees at other financial regulators, including the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and Securities and Exchange Commission.
Why would employees at CFPB — an agency with liberal bona fides, generous compensation and top-notch benefits — want to form a union?
The push to organize was driven in large part by news that many employees in Washington would be forced to give up their private offices while the bureau renovates its headquarters, according to several people familiar with the situation.
Sources said D.C. staffers, which include top regulatory lawyers, economists and policymakers, were “absolutely livid” about their current office space, where groups of four or five people are often sharing single offices “with very, very thin walls.”

Stephen Condrey is senior associate and director of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government’s human resource management assistance program and adjunct professor of public administration in the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs. He has over 25 years of professional experience in human resource management and has consulted nationally and internationally with over 500 organizations concerning personnel-related issues. Condrey received his B.S. from the University of Montevallo, his MPA from the University of Tennessee, and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Georgia.
Lou Cannon, Appointee for Member, Federal Salary Council
Lou Cannon is the Chief of Police of the District of Columbia Protective Services Police Department and Deputy Director at the Department of Real Estate Services. In this role, he is responsible for all of the Department’s operations, including security and law enforcement for over five hundred Government facilities. Prior to that, he served at the Department of Navy Office as Naval Intelligence Chief of Police and Commander of Law Enforcement Operations Emergency Preparedness and Anti-Terrorism. During his thirty-five plus years in law enforcement, Cannon also served with the Department of Treasury US Mint Police as Commander of Operations and Major Events, the Library of Congress Police Department, and the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department.
Jeffrey David Cox, Appointee for Member, Federal Salary Council
Jeffrey David Cox is the National Secretary Treasurer at the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). Prior to serving in this role, Cox served more than 11 years as first executive vice president of the AFGE National Veterans Affairs Council and 18 years as president of Local 1738. He also served as co-chair of the VA National Partnership Council and is currently Vice Co-Chair of the AFL-CIO’s Union Veterans Council.
Rex L. Facer, Appointee for Member, Federal Salary Council
Rex L. Facer is associate professor and the Warren Jones Fellow of Public Finance and Management in the Romney Institute of Public Management at Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management, where he teaches in the Master of Public Administration program. His current research focuses on alternative work schedules, financing infrastructure, the role of infrastructure in economic development, and budgetary decision-making. A 34-year veteran of the federal workforce at the Watervliet Arsenal, and a union member for nearly 30-years, Fenaughty holds extensive representational experience as both a local and national union officer. Prior to assuming the office of Secretary-Treasurer, Fenaughty worked as National Assistant Directing Business Representative (ADBR) from 2002-2009. Before joining the civilian federal workforce in 1973, Fenaughty served in the United States Navy from 1964-1968. He was also a long time member of the U.S. Naval Reserve, serving for 25 years until his retirement in 1990. He attended SUNY at Albany and is a graduate of the National Labor College, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Labor Studies.
Colleen Kelley, Appointee for Member, Federal Salary Council
Colleen Kelley is the National President of the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), representing approximately 150,000 employees in 31 separate government agencies. Kelley was elected NTEU president in 1999. She serves on the Employee Thrift Advisory Council of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, the Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund Board of Directors, and the Board of Governors of the Partnership for Public Service. Previously, Kelley was an IRS Revenue Agent for 14 years and served in various NTEU chapter leadership positions, including chapter president of NTEU Chapter 34 in Pittsburgh. She has a B.A. in accounting from Drexel University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
Jacqueline Simon, Appointee for Member, Federal Salary Council
Jacqueline Simon is currently the Public Policy Director at the American Federation of Government Employees. She has served as a spokesperson for the organization on wide range of issues related to federal government, advocated for federal employees, and organized labor more generally. Prior to her Public Policy Director role, Jacqueline Simon was an Economist at the Economic Policy Institute and an Economist at the AFL-CIO. In both capacities she dealt with union and labor research. Ms. Simon has a B.A. in Economics from The American University.

Can we assume these unions - much like Police and Fire unions - donate to Democrats who then approve their retirement scams and raises?
A great article by the American Spectator. This helps to explain a lot. Some of these Union Thugs had better lawyer up. Even the pro-Obama New York Times will eventually have to note this confluence of crime and political corruption.
