Congressman: Justice Dept. Wiretapped the House of Representative's Cloak Room
The Weekly Standard ^ | 5/16/2013 | Daniel Halper

California congressman David Nunes made the claim yesterday that the Justice Department wiretapped telephones in the House of Representative's Cloak Room, an exclusive part of the Capitol where members are able to privately interact with one another. Nunes made the claim on Hugh Hewitt's radio show.

"I don’t trust the Department of Justice on this," said Hewitt, referring to the subpoenas the Justice Department to obtain the Associated Press's phone records. "Do you, Congressman Nunes?"

"No, I absolutely do not, especially after this wiretapping incident, essentially, of the House of Representative. I don’t think people are focusing on the right thing when they talk about going after the AP reporters. The big problem that I see is that they actually tapped right where I’m sitting right now, the Cloak Room," Nunes respond.

Hewitt was surprised. "Wait a minute, this is news to me," he said.

"The Cloak Room in the House of Representatives," Nunes repeated.

Hewitt again expressed surprise. "I have no idea what you’re talking about," said the radio host.

"So when they went after the AP reporters, right? Went after all of their phone records, they went after the phone records, including right up here in the House Gallery, right up from where I’m sitting right now. So you have a real separation of powers issue that did this really rise to the level that you would have to get phone records that would, that would most likely include members of Congress, because as you know," Nunes claimed.

Hewitt responed by saying, "Wow."

Holder must think he is J. Edgar Hover.

Holder must think he is J. Edgar Hover.

His anger yesterday shows that he thinks he is above the law.

IMO, Nunes is confused. As corrupt as Holder’s JustUs Department is, I doubt they wiretapped the House cloakroom phones.

I think he’s meaning to say that the phone numbers of those phones were included in the logs that the DOJ received as a result of the subpoena.

Well if he’s got proof that this actually happened then I’d say Obama would loose any support he has among Democrats in Congress.

All the scandals we are finding about recently are from one thing so typical of the radical. They are like a pack of animals. They get on the juice, and overreach as they feel invincible, that nothing can stop them. They become all powerful.

This article and Hugh Hewitt's blog are the only mention of this wiretapping of the Cloakroom so far.

We'll need to see how this story develops before getting too excited.

I sure wish the legions of MSM-fed conservatives would understand:

Hoover was fighting a very real and very proven Communist threat, foreign and domestic. Terrorist attacks, bombs, the works - and he was FBI, not WH and not DOJ.

Dig?

If you don’t remember it you sure haven’t been taught it, so read M STANTON EVANS’ “Blacklisted by History.”

If you don’t know who Stan Evans is, wake up. This is possibly the most important book of the decade.

And enough with the Nixon comparisons, too. Nixon’s plumbers were trying to learn about a CALL GIRL RING AT THE DNC, as proven in many lawsuits long after Woodward and Bernstein got a little lucky and were crowned saviors.

Let’s ALL get it right. This is no Watergate - Watergate was a joke compared to this.

And frankly, all of this pales in comparison to how the heck we even ELECTED this Kenyan or Indonesian. The BC story is real, it has not been resolved, and if you think it’s not, you’ve been wearing whole cloth.

We also must SHAME those we know and see who voted for this crap.

Point and laugh at their Obama bumper stickers, too.

THIS IS EASILY THE BIGGEST CRIME EVER COMMITTED BY THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH, if true.

All hell is breaking loose in the Justice Department right now to figure out what really happened and what to do about it. I have no doubt that ever since this broke they have been meetings around the clock to figure out what to do.

I personally wouldn’t put anything past this corrupt administration would be willing to do to maintain control and power over ther perceivied “advasaries” and “enemies”.

They are Chicago thugs.

Thanks. That makes sense.
