Skip to comments.Charlie Rangel: Obama answers not enough

Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday that he believes President Barack Obama owes the American public explanations for both the seizure of Associated Press phone records by the Department of Justice and the IRS targeting of conservative groups. I dont think anyone truly believes that the president has given us a sufficient answer for America, much less the press, Rangel said on MSNBCs Morning Joe. I think this is just the beginning and the whole idea of comparing this with Nixon, I really think is just, it doesnt make much sense. But the president has to come forward and share why he did not alert the press they were going to do this. He has to tell the Americans, including me: What was this national security question? You just cant raise the flag and expect to salute it every time without any reason and the same thing applies to the IRS.

Notice he did not mention Benghazi.
Obama is more than happy to have these other two scandals suck all the air out of the Benghazi balloon.
Notice you have Obama team members like Axelrod and Robert Gibbs also making comments on these scandals.
This is coordinated.
Ouch! If Rangel is not circling the race wagons around him it may truly be over for Barry.
Channeling LBJ, Obama will be saying “if I’ve lost Rangel, I’ve lost the country.”
time for obomba to start a war to get this off the front pages.
I think you are right-—
Don’t tell me.
The photos of Charlie engaged in scandalous, nefarious activities are in the hands of the GOP.
As stated on another thread: “flares and chaff”. Benghazi scares him to death.
And when it comes to the IRS, Rangel knows all about it.
Amazing that a bottom feeder such as Rangel still manages to present a more convincing facade of honesty than does the Obamadork-felon-liar-piece-of-excrement.
Obama is slime.
Charlie Rangie no likey the IRS-y. And dont expect to hear a chirp out of that lil weasel tax cheat Geithner either.
Rangel is defending the Fraud, saying it doesn’t make sense to compare him with Nixon, and Rangel obviously doesn’t give an Obama at all about Benghazi.
I’m thinking he’s hoping whoever will take the fall for IRS and AP phone tapping will make all the unpleasantness for his god go away.
Oh look! Charlie thinks he’s found a way to redeem himself!
He's distracting from the larger issues.
Tax cheat Rangel wants more answers from Obama regarding IRS abuses.
Very perceptive. It's the only explanation that makes any sense. Thanks for popping my balloon. ;)
I think this is a strategy by the Dems to push Benghazi, the most serious scandal, out of the limelight.
I didn’t read your post before I posted mine, but obviously, great minds think alike.
