What category is that? That of a person who tries an Apple product and is completely dissatisfied?

I gave the iphone a shot because it was essentially free. I’m on my third one now because the first two wouldn’t hold a charge (nor does the third).

But I will wait now till my contract is up to switch to a Samsung, or something, because I don’t want to waste my time on transfering everything over to another crummy iphone.

Sorry I hit a nerve. I’m glad you find satisfaction, love, passion, whatever, in your Apple toys. Mine sucks.

Now you are going to post back to me, aren’t you? Because you are an Apple fetishist and you simply can’t abide someone venturing an opinion different from yours.

No. I am not a fetishist. I am a user. I am happy with Apple, and the products I have used over the years.

I seriously doubt any story of getting a free iPhone, since they are premium with all providers., and to have to replace it a couple of times is most unusual to any sane mind. Maybe you got a bad one, but all three? My Verizon iPhone4 is still working after years of daily use, dropping it, and even getting it wet. I can use it all day without recharging it, unless I am talking for hours. It is not connected here in the Philippines (no sim card in that model), but I have an iPhone 5 from a local provider. I still use the iPhone4 for road trip music and can listen for hours. My iPad1 64g is wifi ready here whenever I buy a load for taking it away from here. I have wifi at home.

I am just not obsessed like someone who feels they must ridicule others to validate themselves. I simply like to keep the record straight. Apple makes good products that many people prefer. You may choose to buy any other brand and I will not care one whit. It is not my goal to convert anybody to Apple, but I do preach for Christ.

I also bought Apple stock when it sold at 13 3/8. I held it for more than ten years, and saw it split and rise in value. I sold it when it was rising, but not at the top. I still realized a substantial gain in the seven figure range. I set a family trust for my grandchildrens' educations and to help build them houses. I also have set up 3 Not-for-profit NGO's and have used them to further the Christian message by building infrastructure in poor countries. If that qualifies me as a fanboy, so be it. I am a very happy and retired fanboy now living high in the Philippines and loving life...

“Did I say that? Checking....checking....aaaah,nope!”

Whoops, didn’t read carefully...sorry! Two seconds difference in 0-60 time is a good bit though. :)

"I’m glad you find satisfaction, love, passion, whatever, in your Apple toys. Mine sucks."

I'd stay away from gambling, your luck is lousy.

In the Friday email, the company set the record straight: As of last Thursday, Apple has bragging rights to nine -- not eight -- straight J.D. Power and Associates awards for "Highest Customer Satisfaction with Consumer Smartphones."
That's as of March 25 this year.

My earlier post regarding “making it up in volume” was mostly in jest, since the article stated that the number of vehicles sold was evidence of success, with no indication of the profitability. However, I’d like to point out that since it appears the firm had other revenue streams besides car sales, such as supplying components to other manufacturers, then the company’s profit may come in spite of, not because of, their auto manufacturing sales. I still have no information whether the cars are being sold at a profit or not.

The other poster wrote “two seconds MORE” (than the Tesla numbers). Might want to re-read it.

I don’t gamble.

I don’t shape my life around my (disappointing) cell phone or other minor possessions, and I don’t turn to J.D. Powers for updates on “bragging rights” or anything else.

I do tend to steer clear of people who ardently identify with certain product lines and then set about evangelizing their material articles of faith.

Admittedly I have spent a good part of my life trying to develop and understand my preferences as regards, say, good firearms, reliable pickup trucks, quality fly rods and even the places I’ve lived.

But I wouldn’t care to flog anyone else with my highly personal leanings toward Weatherby over Saco, Winston over Sage, Montana over everyplace else.

Your advice is, ah, appreciated though.

“Weatherby over Saco”

I believe you meant “Sako”. ;-)

It’s all sacrilege anyhow - the new Winchester Model 70s manufactured right here in South Carolina are the way to go! ;-)

All kidding aside, congratulations on living in Montana!

I did mean Sako. Slip of the trigger finger.

Saco is a tiny burg up in northeast Montana where we have bird-hunted on occasion. My buddy is garrulous and works a coffee shop like Mayor Koch--in fact after a couple days there the locals told him he could be honorary mayor while he was in town.

Images below are from a Saco website.

I especially like the lower pic which is obviously a roadkill photo and which certainly gives a sense of the place.

Recalling some Edger Rice Burroughs novels about the wireless transmission of energy and the original Teslas endeavor to do the same which technically was successful one can only speculate that in the near future a Tesla vehicle will not need to stop and recharge, it can get its power over the air, as long as its within range of a transmitter it runs.
Having a short term battery backup of course, or an emergency solar panel and generator helps.

BUT....

Even if Teslas transmitters were feasible, efficient and workable they will never be built under current political revenue gathering and of course the terrorist value of it as a prime target.
