The Mellowing of Maxine Waters
New York Times ^ | 05/132013 | jdsteel

OVER her 22 years in Congress, Maxine Waters has likened bank executives to “gangsters,” snarkily addressed them as “captains of the universe” and threatened to tax their companies “out of business.”.....

In the past, such grumbling might have set off Ms. Waters’s famous hair-trigger temper. But with each complaint, she leaned in for more, nodding appreciatively. “We’ve heard they chase down silly stuff,” Ms. Waters said, referring to regulators and shaking her head in disapproval. “I’m willing to take a hit” to help lower the capital requirements, she said. She even suggested the bankers hire new lobbyists to better represent them. “Influence us,” Ms. Waters said softly, reminding them of her new role as the ranking Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee. “Help us understand the intricacies of your business.”

My take is 1) Maxine is "on the take" for big bucks and 2) It is with Barry's blessings. He wants the markets up for a variety of reasons.

Isn’t Maxine one of the self-declarted socialists in the congress. So by all means let’s give ger a major role on the committee.

Isn’t she the one who wrote to Castro to keep a cop killer down in Cuba because she was being persecuted here?

Can’t the illegals in LA replace her with a Mexican socialist?

Isn’t Max’s husband one of those evil banksters she loves to demonize?

IIRC, it was Maxine Kerosene Waters who once begged,

“Oh please, Mr. Limbaugh, don’t be telling your audience how my husband and I be millionaires! Please don’t you be tellin’ it!”

This was right after Rush’s TV show aired the reality of the Rodney King police vids. 1992 I believe.

BINGO !

From Wikipedia:

Waters’ husband is a stockholder and former director of OneUnited Bank and the bank’s executives were major contributors to her campaigns.

It never ceases to amaze and distraught me how people go into office worth a couple of hundred thousand and leave multi-millionnaires.

I too am amazed but even more so at the rank hypocrisy of people with socialistic views whose personal wealth & lifestyle is in complete contradiction to their professed ideology.

It has become so blatant that we are now accustomed to seeing extreme liberals & redistributionists on board mega yachts, sipping champagne & helicoptering off to exclusive golf courses, all the while denouncing the evils of capitalism.
