Anjem Choudary and his fellow protestors can be seen fighting with what was reported as other Muslim groups on London's Edgware Road.

...

Protestors marched with hard-line Salafist placards and flags, many of which read, "Support Jund Al Sham". ... The protestors were marching in opposition to Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, who they are known to deplore for his Alawite religion. Protestors also took up the cause against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hezbollah chief Hasan Nasrallah, who they deem as "Shia Enemies of Allah" for their Shi'ite Muslim backgrounds.

The protestors are thought to be hard-line Salafists, who have previously praised terrorism, called for shariah law in the UK, and regularly disturb ceremonies honouring British troops.

Just the ramblings of a Maronite Christian of middle eastern origin.

I hope it’s a death match.

Put them in a cage, televise it pay-per-view, and get Britain out of debt.

Correct me if I’m wrong, please. I have no first hand info. The Shia feel that the head honcho must be a relative of Mohammed whereas the Sunni feel the leader can be chosen from without.

Im not sure about now. There isnt really a head honcho in either at the moment, anyone can become a shiekh in sunni and shiite and spout whatever hate they wish.

But i think you might be referring to the original split when mohammed died and there was no successor named. The shiites believed it should be a relative and the sunnis believed should have been someone else, a general or something like that. The relative in question was Ali and is a holy person for shiites.
I just did some research as i got curious:
Mohammed declared ali(his cousin) as a brother, ali married mohammeds daughter, was charged with writing quran verses that mohammed dictated and to spread the word to regions. According to mohammed he was the closest to him which is why mohammed gave him his daughter to marry. When mhammed died ali and the family were performing burial rights, and during that time one of mohammeds companions gathered many muslims and was nominated to be the leader after mohammed. He then went to where mohammed lived and ordered ali and mohammeds family pledge allegiance. mohammeds daughter threatened that she would show her hair and they left(made me laugh :D). Thus began the split. After he compiled the quran but the leaders rejected it and reorganized it but he did not reject what they did. He was later chosen as the 4th caliph but was assassinated while praying. It all gets very complicated from there.

Ha! One of the comments on the site;

a convention of bearded cross-dressers arguing whose cult is the most peaceful ?

Yup, that’s what I thought. When you’re making up a new religion it is important to have those sorts of things ironed out, or so it seems. Of course they took the most lunatic of Mohammed’s writings, renamed them the Satanic Verses, thereby performing an early Alinskyesque revision of reality...and look at the number of lives that have been lost over 1400 years due to that lunatic’s creation. He stole from both Christianity and Judaism to start his brand monotheism...at least he had progressed that far. :{)

Actually, we need to eject all of them now as well, starting at the top and finishing with razing every mosk in our entire country, and sowing the ground with pig fat and entrails.

[Bats eyelashes] Why, thank you. Very nice of you to mention it.

I’m actually more bloodthirsty than that but try to tone it down a bit.

You’re quite respectable yourself.
