"I understand that Pickering was on one of the Sunday talk programs oozing some . . . . spin."

Pickering was on MTP and was interviewed along with Issa by DNC Dave. Pickering looked to me to be very defensive and nervous, while Issa seemed confident and very much in control of both his facts and the conversation. DNC Dave, as usual, looked like a dork.

... What a surprise that Pickering and Mullen should conduct an embarrassment of an investigation that fails to interview key witnesses (including,of course,Mrs. Clinton),and that fails to grapple with key events –like the infamous Susan Rice “talking points” that became increasingly fraudulent precisely because Clinton’s State Department kept pressing for more massaging of the facts.

Issa for speaker!

I would suspect that Issa already knows the answers to many of the questions he will ask, when those dirt bags lie under oath.

From http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/deposition

Deposition testimony is taken orally, with an attorney asking questions and the deponent (the individual being questioned) answering while a court reporter or tape recorder (or sometimes both) records the testimony.

Deposition testimony is generally taken under oath, and the court reporter and the deponent often sign affidavits attesting to the accuracy of the subsequent printed transcript.

From http://www.expertlaw.com/library/expert_witness/deposition_prep.html

A deposition is a question-and-answer session that takes place in an attorney’s office. Usually present are the attorneys for the parties, the parties themselves, and a court reporter. The answers you give at a deposition are testimony. The court reporter swears you in and you answer the questions under oath. It is no different from you testifying in court.

From http://dictionary.law.com/Default.aspx?selected=495

deposition

n. the taking and recording of testimony of a witness under oath before a court reporter in a place away from the courtroom before trial. A deposition is part of permitted pre-trial discovery (investigation), set up by an attorney for one of the parties to a lawsuit demanding the sworn testimony of the opposing party (defendant or plaintiff), a witness to an event, or an expert intended to be called at trial by the opposition. If the person requested to testify (deponent) is a party to the lawsuit or someone who works for an involved party, notice of time and place of the deposition can be given to the other side's attorney, but if the witness is an independent third party, a subpena must be served on him/her if he/she is reluctant to testify. The testimony is taken down by the court reporter, who will prepare a transcript if requested and paid for, which assists in trial preparation and can be used in trial either to contradict (impeach) or refresh the memory of the witness, or be read into the record if the witness is not available.

If they are not sworn in, they are not deposed.

Since you couldn't call it a deposition, it would best be called a theatrical performance.

Obama is not losing any sleep over this because he knows that unless the media starts blasting the truths we already DO know day and night for 2 weeks on end that the public wont pay any attention... and thus congressmen will not have the gonads to do anything about it.

Every single military commander involved could swear under oath that Obama gave the order to stand down when they could have saved lives, and Obama himself could simply claim executive privilege as to why, and the story would be over.

Republicans are at the mercy of the mainstream media.
The mainstream media IS the enemy.
If we cannot figure out how to neutralize them, they WILL neutralize America.

“Drip drip drip”

The best way to get a story out that conflicts with the Leftist media narrative is to do it slowly. It keeps the story in the news, but more importantly, it entices the media into excuse making which is proven to be false with subsequent revelations. That way, the Leftist media continues to lose credibility and control of the narrative. The msm can continue to ignore the story, but then they are stuck with tabloid news reporting. Breitbart did this all the time.

I like him fine where he is now. He seems to be doing the job other Congress-critters refuse to do.

Speaker, however? all.

Check his record: He is arguably not pro-Israel (understatement).

DebbieSchlussel has some troubling info on him on her blog.

Of course, make up your own mind.

Mike Mullen was that most despicable of creatures in the American military—a political general.

These sleaze bags were promoted repeatedly because they were compliant and politically correct. Like thinking more junior officers have also been given preference in promotions. It’s gradually weakening our military.

The Rats will have you believe that questioning the integrity of an Ambassador and Military Admiral is unconscionable. I say these guys have been bought off, blackmailed, or are just closet Marxist. If they need to be torn to shreds to save this Republic, then so be it. I see nothing coming of this unless Issa knows a LOT more than he is letting on, and these two clown know it before testifying.

if he actually said “deposed” then that would mean “deposition “, which, by definition, would be under oath. That , in turn, would put the two targets on their very best, straight-talking, behavior.

“dereliction of duty” is the charge that comes to mind for the commander-in-chief. On the military side it would be bustable/ courts martialable. on the civilian side I expect it’s the definition of “impeachable”.

Many areas need investigation simultaneously such as lack of defense at consulate, what was the ambassador doing in Benghazi, initial response, coverup, etc All of them are of equal interest to me.

But the best way to pursue the investigation is to focus on one thing at a time.

The Wednesday hearings proved a singular thing -- the administration engaged in a cover-up from the get go.

Let's not complicate or obfuscate. The MSM -- and the low information voter -- have a very limited attention span and restricted powers of discernment.

A side benefit of this "one thing at a time" approach is that it extends the hearings almost indefinitely...

Issa has learned how to manage the news cycle: leak, leak, leak, expose...pause for effect.

She was on fire last night. After her intro she had Lt. Col. Hunt on together with a former Seal. Hunt claims multiple options were available and the former Seal said the special reaction group was either on 30 minute or 60 minute response (to get to their gear and be ready for dispatch). An elite team based out of Stuttgart was actually training in Croatia at the time, and they could have reached Benghazi within 4 hours (3 hours flight plus max 60 minutes response time).

And the administration’s claim that these fighter jets from either Germany or Northern Italy weren’t viable because there were no mid-air fuelers available is also a lark, since refueling could have been done on the ground in Sicily.

Lies, damned lies, and democrats...

Well, the atmosphere of the top echelon of any of the military services is to cover your own a** and preserve the status quo...
These people get to the top by self-promotion and go along to get along as well as perfecting a** kissing. Even those on the periphery are afraid to rock the boat...rather despicable, if you ask me.

Nope. They should focus on all aspects of this sordid affair including before 9/11, during 9/11 and post 9/11. They should definitely NOT make it look like they have their eggs in one basket. The administration bobs and weaves on that issue and then our guys say now we will look at item #2. Looks like a witch-hunt.

No. Get a select committee to look all ALL aspects thoroughly.

Gregory Hicks, the Benghazi whistleblower who said he was “demoted” after challenging the Obama administration’s response to the attack, is a registered Democrat who voted for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, according to the Daily Caller. Hicks voted for Clinton in the 2008 presidential primary, then for Obama in the 2008 general election and again in 2012 — just weeks after the assault — attorney Victoria Toensing told the Daily Caller.......Well well
