Or the WH looked at the various options Dempsey presented and chose the one that was most beneficial to him politically. Panetta and Dempsey just parroted the decision, saluted, and supported the CIC.

Who.concocted.the.video.lie????? Why isn’t anyone asking this?

It was an obscure you tube video, which, I understand, had few views. So who knew of it to use it as the cause for the attack? If I were the lawyer for the maker of the video, I would be working hard to clear his name or bringing some slander and libel charges against some people here. OR, is this guy sitting in jail and meanwhile collecting a big paycheck from someone in the administration?

But there are many questions to answer and the progress is slow. Nibbling to death by multiple committees seems like a good idea to me.

Boehner is the weak link. But I think he realizes it is “do or die” time.

I still contend Amb. Stevens was tasked with helping funnel Gaddafi’s weapons to Syrian rebels, including Al Qaeda.

If word got out, those actions would be treasonous and heads would role. The attack threatened a white hot spot light on that. So it was quashed, even if Americans had to die. Reelection trumped all of that. On whose authority was Libyan weapons going to Syria and lies about the Benghazi attacks made?

Guess.

Screw you Rednecks and bitter clingers. I aim to fundamentally change America! I cannot be punished for "crimes" with such lofty a goal!

I have to buy more popcorn, it will be good watching if the dims are forced to choose between Hillary and Obama.

Of course Hillary will throw Obama under the bus, he should also be on guard against an accident or going to the park.

Agree. I have stated repeatedly we need to know what decisions were made during the first hour. No one knew how long it would last.

We keep hearing these silly arguments that help couldn't have gotten there in time, but no one knew how long it would last. We had over 30 people at risk.

The big problem with a call for a select committee is that the Demoviks have to sign off on it—and won’t ever. I think they’ll refuse to staff it, if it comes down to it.

Then, of course, later, when other committees report in the Dems will turn their palms up and say, “Well, there was no select committee so...”

Republicans should, for once, agree to block all pending RAT legislation...especially immigration....and any cabinet appointments, until all of those issues are resolved. They never show the kind of political solidarity that the Democrats consistently do.

Couldn't disagree more. Such efforts are unfocussed and water down the impact. Select committees that investigated Watergate and Iran-contra are more powerful and have greater impact. You need to focus the MSM and the public on each hearing from one committee.

If we don't have a select committee, then the Reps don't deserve to be in control of the House.

You could tell by the way she thanked Scheiffer at the end of the segment she was really thanking him for giving her “cover” inside the network where the ombudsman has already accused her of “advocacy journalism”—and who better would know that when he sees it!

Good point. We’ve been overlooking that today. Anything from Petraeus hurts us more than it helps because he’s easy pickings for the politics of personal destruction blah blah blah.

“Col Cartwright USMC on ABC just said that it would have taken until the next day to send any military aircraft over Benghazi — atleast 9 hours to fuel and load ordinances — so no rescue by air was possible.”

If in fact the Colonel is right, then the military is in much worse shape than I ever thought. Having served in the US Army and the USAF I can say that no way would it have ever taken us none hours just to get off the ground.

Another thing is to use every press appearance no matter the subject to keep pounding Benghazi. If you’re gonna be accused of “playing politics” in any case, then PLAY POLITICS.
