The bottom line is we had the forces and need to know who told them to stand down?

These were retired SEALS and they were on contract with the CIA. Doherty was one of the ones who went down on the first flight using a charted aircraft. Where are you coming up with this half hour flight time? Benghazi is over 400 miles from Tripoli.
The UK (vice Canada) closed its mission temporarily after its ambassador's motorcade was attacked in Benghazi with RPGs in June.
Hicks during his testimony said that Stevens was intending to go to Benghazi in October, but he went in September so that they could get a report to make Benghazi a permanent mission and obligate the money prior to end of September 30, the end of the fiscal year. What I find incredible is that they wanted to make Benghazi a permanent facility despite the deteriorating security conditions. Hillary was, according to Hicks, pushing this.
Then you don’t ask Hicks or the people on the ground what happened and make up a lame excuse?
The ARB interviewed Hicks for two hours--according to Hicks. And Pickering said this morning that the ARB interviewed all the survivors. Issa said in response that Congress has not even been given the names let alone being able to interview them. We need a select committee, even though Issa appears to be against it.
Fortunately Senator Rubio has already made his big mistake in public that reduces the base's interest in seeing him run for President. Not like Rick Perry, who waited for a debate before he looked in the camera and called me heartless because he wants to fund his favorite illegal aliens and claimed that I had to agree with him, or else.
And Rubio's behavior in his first term proves 2 things: we need more miles on a candidate before we get behind him, so we know for sure what kind of person he is BEFORE we entrust this country to him, and...
This is another reason to not elect a US Senator to the White House. They have no perspective on government, only politics.

McCain had to correct Martha Radditz who keeps insisting that Dear Leader called it a terrorist attack. McCain tells her that all he did was to condemn terrorism in general. He didn’t call the attack terrorism. But she is incorrigible and later in the show is back on her talking point.

In fact, if Benghazi is the new standard for military contingencies we need to radically reduce our defense budget, and our ubiquitous presence around the globe, and stop bragging about how we leave no one behind.
Liars in the Joint Chiefs and elsewhere can start saying, “We let people die—even our own. Give us the money anyway.”
At least they’ll be telling the truth.

I saw Pickering on MTP this morning. He seemed clueless; either incompetent, senile or part of the conspiracy. Maybe that was his bad showing?
The reality is that no one knew how long the crisis would last. The seven hours is in hindsight. As Issa rightly said, what decisions were made in hour one when no one knew the outcome. Did we start the wheels in motion to send assistance?
What cross border rescue effort was in progress and had to be halted?
