let us pray it never happens again...this president should resign...so what it the one to take his place is a screw ball...can’t be worst than the rich boy there now...
Anti Obamacare groups.
They (the IRS and Federal government) have waged war on it’s citizens. It’s time we start pushing back. It’s us or them.
Hey, that happened a long time ago. What difference does it make?
What we have here is clear proof that it is time to replace the income tax with the FairTax and abolish the IRS!
Help us do that, please.
Constitutional Republic all the way!
Government Alphabet Agencies—UNCONSTUTIONAL!
Question: When an organization like TeaParty is scrutinized does that mean that the individual members’ tax returns were given to the White House so they could be intimidated by the political hatchetmen AND the IRS auditors?
Nobody seems to have learned a thing....and, of course, the truth will out as to who ordered what, when and how.
Now that there'll be a DC official investigation of the harrassment things will get even more delicious because the "lower-level" employees will get a wonderful chance to rat out their superiors as they (the lower-caste rats), refuse to scamper under the bus of their own volition.
Bon appetit !!!
Obama gives us one outrage after another...
and then he jokes about it on TV. What kind of scum is in our White House?
My plan: Abolish the IRS completely.
The federal government sends a bill to each state for a tax amount based on the latest census. The states then figure out how to collect it. Eventually, given 50 states, the best, least tax collection practices, and most likely not to crush the economy will emerge.
Here’s the answer:
Imagine if they’d only done it to organizations with “black” or “African American” or “Liberal” or “Resistance” or “Occupy” in the name.
Atty General would be down there right down, arrests, special investigators, breathtaking updates inserted into every news cast. . .
and rightly so.
They use the words “wrong” and “inappropriate.” Haven’t they heard of “illegal?”
If I don’t file my taxes, will they send me a letter saying it was inappropriate?
Let’s hang the bastiges!
Interesting concept, wintertime. The concept is new to me, and I’ll have to go think on it a bit, but I certainly like the idea of abolishing the IRS. And, the states would certainly regain a large measure of control over their own destiny.
HST, the FairTax also cripples the Fed — that is one reason I like it so much.
Criminality In Taxation
What I would like to see is a “document dump” from the groups that were paid special attention. Post copies of EVERTHING — full copies, no redacting names of the IRS “investigators.”
Shine a light on the cockroaches.
An apology w/o restitution or penalty. Maybe the IRS should be forced to accept apologies like this from taxpayers.
That hasn’t come out yet... but I wouldn’t put it past them... The press is starting to wake up - this might get interesting.
Apology -- for the harrasment and audit I got (and passed) after a few weeks after this...
(Angy "white"guys. LOL.)
Where's that Apology?
Free Republic is a for-profit corporation solely funded by taxable donations from its members. You may not deduct contributions to Free Republic, so the IRS would not be auditing you for that.
I have heard that people who have been audited are rich fodder for the feds to audit again. That could be the cause of your close scrutiny by them.
If they audit you and find you’re short on your taxes, you will get audited again until they owe you or you’re even.
This Highlander is with you!
Same here, sir!
With you all the way!
And 1000, 10,000 local groups are d@mned hard to stop ;)
At a minimum. If the Republican house leadership doesn’t make this happen, then what are they there for? Sitting around in committee meetings bemoaning these type of activities with only real purpose of gaining future campaign donor contributions is also failure in of itself. The real goal should be is to determine if there was systematic, choreographed Hydra-headed operation focused on a sector of Americans.
I find it hard to believe that this is the actions of one isolated bureaucrat. These actions should have criminal consequences otherwise long-term federal bureaucrats may continue to feel a sense of empowerment and their misplaced duty to operationalize their position of unique standing in accordance with the views of the president they admire at the time.
People who think that bureaucrats are passionless, impartial implementers are utterly mistaken. The full extent of criminal law must be demanded to send the signal.
It's clear that the purpose for delaying the approval of the tax status for conservative groups was to prevent them from effectively participating for Romney.
Second to that was the desire to cause these groups to expend extra funds fighting the delays, as well as diverting their focus from supporting Romney to fighting the IRS.
Not just fired, criminally prosecuted for violation of constitutional rights, freedom from coercion and to assemble.
If in fact IRS staff was told to do this in a subterfuge manner by this Adminisration, then we are well on our way back to King George.
This revelation could be more explosive than Benghazi. Benghazi is more about incompetence resulting in death and no attempt to order military into action because of concern on electoral politics.
Using the IRS to destroy or thwart the political efforts of Americans desiring to be active in how our government is run is basically ripping the Declaration of Independence and Constitution in half and using them for toilet paper.
The IRS staff should not have the authority or the ability to be able to do this. These auditing actions should be similar to a police officer getting a warrant from a judge. Where is the oversight to prevent this type of arbitrary behavior?
Who told this staff to use Tea Party labeling as a search mechanism? Was it verbalized at a cocktail party in DC to make this happen because of the fear of the in roads the Tea Party was having throughout the US?
The jokes on us, conservatives are the only ones who follow the laws.
laws for libs are just a tool of entertainment for them to watch us run around chasing our tail.
Go figure the IRS is auditing me from 2008. They are desperate!
Without repealing Obamacare too the IRS is around to stay.
Congress needs to get their act together and their priorities straight!
“The IRS apology has seemingly validated conservatives’ fears of politically motivated regulation.”
Translation: We’ll spin this so that conservatives look like paranoid kooks.
Ah....crossing the Rubicon.
I anticipate it.
I agree that Obamacare must be repealed.
true conservative congressmen should choke this administration out the last four years with hearings, denying federal judge appointments, filibustering, calls for impeachment when warranted, cleaning out statehouses from liberal influences, and calling for the abolishment of Sec of Ed,fundamentally restructuring FDA, Interior, and the IRS.
Where is the playbook on making this happen and who is the coach?
After I heard this story I started wondering. I turned in my return in January expecting a refund. First, I was supposedly identified as a possible identity theft something or other. Once I settled that after an hour on the phone, it was supposed to start processing. In late April after repeated checks on where’s my refund stating it was still processing, I called back. another hour on the phone I was told, oh this was our fault completely and you did everything right. at that point I was told it should be in pending process with a few days. It’s still processing. And of course they do not pay late payments or penalties and interest when they owe me.
I am sure the IRS will keep their word. When it comes to health care, if your Tea Party, they will not investigate anything for you.
