The White House held an off-the-record briefing with reporters on Friday afternoon to discuss recent revelations about the Benghazi investigation, sources familiar with the meeting tell POLITICO.

Just try to imagine what the uproar would be if W did this! It would have been impossible for W (or any Republican President) to have an 'off the record meeting with the Media'. With the Obama Administration -- sure it is very possible as the Media is just an extension of his Administration. They have the same goals and they are on the same side -- against the United States of America.
