Geraldo Rivera: My Sources Tell Me Benghazi Was About Running Missiles To Syria Rebels
The Blaze ^ | 5/10/2013 | Madeleine Morgenstern

Posted on 05/10/2013 9:27:35 AM PDT by ConservativeMan55

Geraldo Rivera said Friday that his sources tell him the U.S. was involved in a secret mission in Libya to arm the Syrian rebels, which was the reason for the initial secrecy about the attack in Benghazi.

Yep, that was my first thought. They need a new narrative.

That pretty much blows their excuse out of the water. About that “tanker” excuse, do the fighters have a 10 gallon tank? /s From what I understand, these fighters have a range that would have well been within the Benghazi distance and back. Did the mean old Republicans not give the Air Force enough money to top off the tanks? /s

thanks for posting the info. makes the excuse they used look even more dastardly.

His sources on Free Republic?

I think we'd ALL be amazed if we knew the truth.

I have seen far too many times stories and interviews based on theories that I read here on FR days earlier.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised that WHOREaldo decided that the missiles to Syrian rebels story made the most sense based on the common sense facts presented numerous times here on FR.

Yup. Too much crow to eat. They’d have to admit that they were wrong and/or lied. Not gonna happen.

Not as long as their unofficial arm (MSM) of the administration and DNC has anything to do with it. Never see the light of day.

Perhaps the Americans were to be taken hostage? Some of the attackers didn’t get the memo from the State Department.

My pet theory is that it was the few who did respond without getting shut down from their superiors messed things up by turning an arranged kidnapping into an actual hot firefight.

From what I've have been reading there was also some warehouses (two if I recall)that were used to store the recovered weapons that went missing.
The CIA guys were were guarding/filling them recovered weapons.
After the attack, when some Italian media got there, they photographed empty wharehoused with a bunch of empty man-pad creates

That would be plausible. Nothing surprises me from this bunch currently occupying the White House.

Fox is reporting a serious threat building in Libya in the last 24 hours (actually a week), looks like some of the key Benghazi attackers are gonna have a fatal accident...

Maybe an initial defensive attack and to scare away the attackers and then a follow up with something more ASAP. Might take a couple of days to get an rescue team to the embassy but at least they would have made an effort to protect them and might have been able to hold off the attackers.

It is certainly not a good thing to abandon fellow Americans when they need help and as an ambassador I would question my loyalties to the US if I thought that I might be left to fend for myself during an attack.

If Ambassador Stevens was buying up arms in Libya, you can take for granted that nobody could compete with the depth of those pockets.

Sounds familiar...like...

If DHS is buying up ammunition in the US to the tune of 1.7 billion rounds, you can take for granted that nobody can compete with the depth of those pockets.

Center for Security Policy senior fellow and former career CIA officer Clare Lopez observed that there were two large warehouse-type buildings associated with the so-called “consulate” whose purpose has yet to be disclosed. As their contents were raided in the course of the attack, we may never know for sure whether they housed — and were known by the local jihadis to house — arms, perhaps administered by the two former Navy SEALs killed along with Stevens.

The evidence suggests that the Obama administration has not simply been engaging, legitimating, enriching and emboldening Islamists who have taken over or are ascendant in much of the Middle East. Starting in March 2011, when American diplomat J. Christopher Stevens was designated the liaison to the “opposition” in Libya, the Obama administration has been arming them, including jihadists like Abdelhakim Belhadj, leader of the al Qaeda franchise known as the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group.

What we do know is that the New York Times — one of the most slavishly pro-Obama publications in the country — reported in an Oct. 14 article, “Most of the arms shipped at the behest of Saudi Arabia and Qatar to supply Syrian rebel groups fighting the government of Bashar Assad are going to hard-line Islamic jihadists, and not the more secular opposition groups that the West wants to bolster.”

In short, it seems President Obama has been engaged in gun-walking on a massive scale. The effect has been to equip America’s enemies to wage jihad not only against regimes it once claimed were our friends, but inevitably against us and our allies as well. That would explain his administration’s desperate and now failing bid to mislead the voters through the serial deflections of Benghazigate.

"...which was the reason for the initial secrecy about the attack in Benghazi."

Horse manure. An operation would have had contingency plans and cover stories in place, Geraldo. This is about betrayal, treason, and a criminal conspiracy to cover it up.

2 camps, Obamatollah vs. Hillary, are playing PIN THE TAIL ON THE COMMIE.

We’re seeing the public face of this “behind the scenes” battle.

Various news outlets are cracking and announcing “what really happened,” but some are spinning TOWARD State Dept (aka Hillary), while others are spinning TOWARD the White House.

When DirtyWhorealdo pipes up, you know he’s been fed a very specific talking point.

Examples of this battle in the past 24 hours....

CBS: “12 different drafts of Benghazi talking points were made, and the final draft was missing the word al-Qaeda which appeared in the original draft.”

WHOREALDO: “Obama (via CIA) was running weapons to Mozz Bros in Syria.”
