Lerner said the practice, initiated by low-level workers in Cincinnati, was wrong and she apologized while speaking at a conference in Washington.................Pass the buck.

Low level workers? Who directed them to do this? I don’t believe they did this on their own. The whole chain of command should be subpoened by an independent counsel.

Why is this news?

This is how the game is played.

She’s not apologizing for the IRS, but for the “low level workers”.

The Internal Revenue Service is apologizing for "patriot" in their applications for tax-exempt status were singled out for additional reviews.

Once again, those in the government ruling class, are evil to the core.

Again, those in government have no honor and refuse to take responsibility for their actions, actions which if occurred in private sector America, those involved would be fired, and prosecuted.

Take everything away from everyone involved, leave them destitute. Matter of fact, take everything away from everyone who works for the IRS. Make those who aren’t involved prove it. Goose-Gander, that’s the way they treat taxpayers.

Comment from me: APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED (emphasis mine).

Here's the problem: the IRS has the power to effectively ruin people by starting a tax audit, even for specious reasons. Given that the Tea Party was specifically targeted for an IRS audit, that tells me no less than the President himself may have approved of this.

Okay, let me go “out there” a bit.

Just why, right now, is the IRS coming forward with this mea culpa? Is it possible that the heat over Benghazi is getting to the Obama administration and this is there way to throw a bone to conservatives and Republicans? As in, “We did some bad things. We didn't play fair, now would you back off the whole Benghazi thing and we'll try to play nice with you now.”

Is this possible or is this too wild? Why would they voluntarily just now come forward with this info and apology?

In private business, someone caught in such a flagrant policy violation would be fired or demoted.

I want to know what happened to these low-level employees.

No, I am not holding my breath.

Lemme guess? No one questioned Organizing For America’s questionable activities, right?

Obama, using his SEIU career bureaucrats allies, launched a retaliatory political strike against his TEA Party enemies via the IRS. The only surprise here is that the IRS apologized. These people should be fired.

The IRS is probably trying to head off a deeper investigation. That probe needs to continue until indictments are handed down.

Sure, they’re sorry.

BS.

Go after ‘em, and find out WHO gave the push to target these organizations.

Like the low level career employees of the State Department who didn’t vigorously and continuously beseech Hillary for security upgrades at the “Critical” level facility of Benghazi - according to the ARB (totally false). So, it’s not the fault of Obama appointees for not listening...

We should demand mass firings, rescinding of pensions, and jail time for all involved. Apologies are not even close to enough for these egregious crimes.

Apology won’t hack it. They won’t let us apologize for making a mistake on our tax returns.
Jail for them.

How do you apologize and in the next breath say: “It wasn’t politically motivated...just a mistake.”
