The crimes here could result is several life sentences if there is a conviction. If more people are guilty, I hope they share those sentences with Ariel Castro.
My gut feeling too, is that someone else had to know. Maybe not the whole story, but enough to tip off the police.
Just for curiosity sake, I wonder what the 2010 census taker found out about the house and its residents?
In 10 years or more he never had visitors? His kids never stayed the night? No one ever knew or suspected something?
I really doubt it.
Good point about the census-—but the monster Ariel could have refused to give out info. And if the census taker asked the know-nothing neighbors——???????
Probably the welfare system knows a lot about who was living there.
Castro lived a decent lifestyle-—owned the home, had motorcycles, went clubbing....with no visible means of support. Got fired as a school bus driver.
Betcha he, his brothers (who live with the mother) use several identities to collect welfare, food stamps, get EITC refunds, probably UI, disability, and so on.
For now I give the police the benefit of the doubt. Too easy to second guess right now. I hope the prosecutor can get these guys convicted without too much testimony from the victims. It won’t take very long before the inmates crucify these animals.
