Many United States citizens do not pay federal taxes either. Look, we can see you have a bitch about these guys being from Puerto Rico, but I doubt it was/is the reason they are evil. Yes they are evil and evil seems to know no boundaries. I live in Milwaukee and Jeff Dahmer was evil as well. So were the 9/11 hijackers. So was Andrei Chikatilo. All evil and all deserving of their fates before God.
Yes, so VERY patently, painfully true. The KEY difference being THEY (real citizens) were required to at least file some sort of federal personal income tax return, as AMERICAN citizens would be expected to do.
Somehow, this historical minimally explanatory/augmenting crappola of reasons why Puerto Ricans don't pay Federal Personal Income Tax and how they pay "many federal taxes" is some kind of valid substitute. It is NOT.
My "Bitch" is that we treat many people very, very differently. Depending on party of power, the "differently" varies greatly. The Democrats want Puerto Ricans to vote, and they want to vote, but not enough to want to pay Federal Personal Income tax - just vote.
This is a big diversion from the post. But words mean things. And equating some of those within the realm of benefits of being citizens doesn't equate to the same responsibilities. Take that as you will.
