The fact that he was not funded by the GOPe will make him easier for the true conservative movement to manipulate when the vote matters.
How is it, after all this time since he was first elected S.C. Governor, that you and so many other posters on FR, a website for conservatives. still don't know that Mark Sanford IS a conservative.
Yep. I agree. Until his weird meltdown, he was THE most outspoken elected official about the Obama agenda. I felt like he had created the blueprint for beating Obama, and drawing a line between the states and DC. Sort of what we saw later from Perry and Brewer on specific issues.
Sanford has all the conservative creds; he has unfortunately unraveled in his personal life since 2009. I am cautiously optimistic that he could be a real asset in the House.

(The lesson for the GOP is simple - don't let the opposition define you)
Cheated on his wife
Disappeared from his mandated Office for over a week.
Lied about it for almost a month in public and private.
Is that what passes for a conservative in South Carolina?

(Violence is rarely the answer. But when it is it is the only answer.)
