OK, then what does that say about liberal democrat standards? Do they realize they are admitting that they are perfectly comfortable with scumbags?
I don’t think divorce and marital infidelity were the problem from a voter’s point of view. But basically, Governor Sanford abandoned his state, lied about his whereabouts (”hiking on the Appalachian Trail”!) when they couldn’t find him, and threw over all his responsibilities to the people who had elected him in order to run after his Argentine cutie. Talk about a midlife crisis...in which the citizens of SC were the abused party.
We’ve got to do better than this for candidates. Sanford (from an old SC family) had the money to run, and that’s all it takes.

As awful as many Republicans are (and there are many), I still maintain the worst Republican is better than the best Democrat.
I was watching the live returns tallied on Politico and shouted for joy when the check mark went up alongside his name. He easily beat her yet the media said it would be so close that a recount may be necessary. They’re truly worthless!
I had to look that up - I’ve never watched it! I don’t much like current comedy, too many cuss words and bodily function jokes that turn me off.

Once the disgraced and tearful figure at the epicenter of an embarrassing scandal, former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford will return to public life as a U.S. congressman.
The Associated Press has projected Sanford to be the winner of Tuesday’s special election in South Carolina’s first Congressional district race.
No numbers but projection of a win.......
Hear hear! Red state Dems have to be worried about primary challenges as well, with Bloomberg and the Morning Schmo banging to drum. With any luck, we’ll be running against full-blown commies in red states. haha

That’s what they’re paying that fat little louse, Karl Rove, for. He’s got his hand on the pulse of the Democrat Party....so why are the Republicans paying him for this cockeyed advice?
The comeback was complete when he defeated Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch, the sister of political satirist Stephen Colbert. With 87 percent of the precincts reporting, Sanford had 54 percent of the vote.
