Agreed. I probably would not have voted for Sanford in the primary, but the general is a no brainer.

SC has helped us and it just reminds me of why SC, GA are my favorite states.
Some people do repent. It is not like he was a queer demanding that all accept his cheating on his wife as a new lifestyle.
Are we absolutely sure it’s not a new lifestyle? When’s he going to get around to marrying his foreign hottie? Hasn’t it been three years now? Or, is Sanford going to be like a decadent, ascot-wearing Frenchman, and just keep her as a mistress?
Oh, well. It’s great that the loathesome Busch and those Comedy Central cretins lost. I keep trying to look at this whole thing as a glass half-full. But’s it a very degraded silver-lining. My revulsion towards Sanford has less to do specifically with issues of adultery/sin than of character/comportment. Part of my longstanding code in defining manhood involves abiding by duty, responsibility, and honor. When I see someone ditch these things and then try to justify their selfish actions with downright grotesque levels of self-absorption, it really turns my stomach. The culture has become embarrassingly awash in this kind of mindset. It’s like the polar opposite of “character.” But that’s where America seems to be nowadays. And it even gets celebrated and rewarded. All while decency, character and virtuousness are now even disparaged and looked down upon. One of the reasons I really don’t think America has future.

I can only agree with all you state. The triad of human development: the physical, the mental, and the spirtual. We are simply dinosaurs in an age of moral decline. Keep in mind, it may not always be this way.

If he is a consistently conservative vote - then as Lincoln said of Grant “I cannot spare this man, he fights.”
In that vein - when Lincoln was told that Grant was a drunk he said “Find out what he drinks and send a case of it to my other Generals”; so if Sanford is a consistent conservative vote - “Find me more Argentinian women and send a truckload of them to my other Congressmen.”
