Have liberals already conceded defeat in today's South Carolina special election? Though polls show the race a true toss-up, some Democrats are attacking not just Republicans, but smearing the entire state as well.
During today's Stephanie Miller Show, guest Charlie Pierce of Esquire Magazine slammed the Palmetto State as "tribal", "a cult" and the ultimate dig, "religious"! From the program:

CHARLIE PIERCE: And you know I I I I I appreciate that it that the fact that it’s that competitive is an amazing thing, but it’s still South Carolina.
STEPHANIE MILLER: Right.
CHARLIE PIERCE: But it’s still South Carolina.

As a former columnist for the stuffy Boston Globe, Pierce is well-versed in parochial snobbery, but it's hard to imagine how this kind of loose talk is constructive for his "progressive" friends.
As a life long resident of the great state of South Carolina I would just like to say, "Well, bless your hearts."

When I moved to Columbia SC in 1988, I was exploring my new city and drove downtown to see the State House. I was shocked to see the Confederate flag flying on top of the dome. (Not angered or offended...just amazed that it was there.)
They need to put it back and take down the flag of the Beltway Empire.

Stephanie Miller was a washed up morning shock jock for WCMF “Brother Wease Morning Circus” in Rochester many years ago. Her radio name was “Sister Sleaze.” After that she joined lib radio circuit as a talk show host. She became a legend in her own mind.

The fine citizens of SC threw this types of scalawags and carpet-baggers out of our state in the 1870’s and we’ll gladly do so again if necessary!
