The state would set up a "school climate center" and individual districts would face additional reporting, training and other requirements to reduce school bullying under a bill passed by the Minnesota House on Monday, May 6. The bill passed 72-57, with all the support from Democratic-Farmer-Laborers and all the opposition from Republicans. The companion bill is scheduled for a hearing in the Senate E-12 finance subcommittee Tuesday. Bill sponsor Jim Davnie, DFL-Minneapolis, said the measure would take Minnesota from having one of the weakest anti-bullying laws in the country to "instead being a leader in building safe and supportive school climates for all students."

IMHO, all this stuff is right up there with “gun-free zones.”

There are laws that cover “bullying”
Disorderly conduct, harassment, simple assault etc.
No law is needed if we simply applied the laws that exist.

When I was in school, the lesbians in gym class did most of the bullying.

[[It will do nothing of the kind, and will only result on more legal bull Obama stinking up the already polluted atmosphere surrounding public schools.]]

So when a teacher forces their students to worship in a mosque (as they did in boston) the parents will be able to sue the school for bullying hteir kids

When teachers belittle kids for beign conservatives, their parents can sue the school for bullyign hteir kids

When Christian kids are ridiculed for their faith and treated differently by staff than other kids, their parents can then sue the school for bullying their kids-

When Christian kids are told to stop prayign in school, and swtop carryign and displayign hteir bible, they can sue hteir school for bullying them-

When kids are told they can’t display religious symbols such as neclaces of crosses, or even t-shirts with a religiosu logo- they can sue gtheir school for bullying them

This is not goign to go well- in a liberal’s mind, only liberal atheist kids and homosexuals are victims of bullying

[[All the Democrats solution will do is spend money.]]

Well, no, it wil ldo more than that- it will get kids suspended or expelled from school for pointign to the sky after a touchdown or basket or goal- it will get kids suspended or expelled from school for mentioning God or Jesus on school grounds- etc etc etc

[[We need bills to restrict government bullying, corruption, and terms of service.]]

They are above the law- they can bully Christians and peopel of morality, and htey can rob peopel in any ivnentive ways that they like- but they are exempt fro mtheir own laws agaisnt bullying

Those laws didn’t go far enough in violating hte right to free speech of Christians and peopel of faith and morality- this new bill will go that far-

I developed an anti-bullying policy about 45 years ago. It was called my fist. It was very effective and the bullies left me alone after it was strenuously deployed.
