The state would set up a "school climate center" and individual districts would face additional reporting, training and other requirements to reduce school bullying under a bill passed by the Minnesota House on Monday, May 6. The bill passed 72-57, with all the support from Democratic-Farmer-Laborers and all the opposition from Republicans. The companion bill is scheduled for a hearing in the Senate E-12 finance subcommittee Tuesday. Bill sponsor Jim Davnie, DFL-Minneapolis, said the measure would take Minnesota from having one of the weakest anti-bullying laws in the country to "instead being a leader in building safe and supportive school climates for all students."

The bill sets aside $1 million for a school climate center run by the state Education Department to help schools develop anti-bullying policies. But it would cost local districts roughly $20 million per year, according to an analysis by Minnesota Management and Budget.

Why is it that I see these new powers doing absolutely nothing to protect the kids who are being assaulted by thugs, in the school ground and on the bus, every day, and will instead bring the full force of government down on anyone who makes a peaceful and principled statement of opposition to homosexuality?

Maaa ... she's lookin' at me ...

WHAP !

THAT'S the anti-bully bill that always worked, and that's why America is in trouble ... too many so-called parents don't teach and discipline their kids.

Notice I didn't say "correct their kids" ...

Correction comes from within

All they have to do next is to change the definition of bullying.
Any kind of criticism or disagreement can be construed as "bullying" by the recipient.

the only way to survive bullies....is to SURVIVE BULLIES.

kids will never get tough unless they GET TOUGH.

it is natures way of separating the wheat from the chaff.

“Any kind of criticism or disagreement can be construed as “bullying” by the recipient.”

Criticism of white conservative males? Freeper, please.
They have to construct victim classes that are the only ones protected. A homosexual kid can bully anyone who disagrees with them.

“instead being a leader in building safe and supportive school climates for all students.”

That statement, in and of itself, fully illustrates the almost immeasurable vapidity and stupidity of politicians and (obviously) liberals.

It will do nothing of the kind, and will only result on more legal bull Obama stinking up the already polluted atmosphere surrounding public schools.

Get your child OUT of pub(l)ic schools.

Now.

Sure this is the Democrats solution to everything; more training and more paperwork for bureaucrats to do.

All the Democrats solution will do is spend money.

Teachers and Principals can only do something about bullying if they can detect it.

Kids are not stupid. They learn by the age of five that if they want to do something wrong they do it when adults are not in the room and bullying happens when teachers and principals are not in the room or it happens away from school.

Schools will not do anything about bullying without actually witnessing bullying. These laws will do not much but waste tax payer’s money.

If parents had school choice they wouldn’t have to send their kid to a school that put up with bullies and waste 20 million trying to figure out how write an expulsion letter.

Once you actually read them these “anti-bullying” bills always turn out to be pro-homosexual indoctrination bills.

We didn’t call ‘em queers.

We were a lot more blunt about it than that.

I am admittedly ancient but back in my day, there were no “out of the closet” queers. I knew one kid, who tried hard to hide his femininity, even taking a girl to the prom. When asked about his sexuality, he would deny being queer. Years later, after he had moved to another and much larger city, he “came out”.

Denying his queerness in high school, kept his ass from getting kicked on a daily basis. I’m not advocating kicking queer asses at any age but sure wish the stigma were reattached and they’d just shut up about their sexuality.

How bout a bill to restrict the incessant bullying and swindling of taxpayers by career politicians seeking to buy themselves the next seat of power. We need bills to restrict government bullying, corruption, and terms of service.
