North Korea missiles moved away from launch site: U.S. officials

By Phil Stewart

WASHINGTON | Mon May 6, 2013 6:53pm EDT

(Reuters) - North Korea has taken two Musudan missiles off launch-ready status and moved them from their position on the country's east coast, U.S. officials told Reuters on Monday, after weeks of concern that Pyongyang had been poised for a test-launch.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry warned North Korea last month that it would be a "huge mistake" to launch the medium-range missiles, but the prospects of a test had put Seoul, Washington and Toyko on edge.

Military posturing is costly. They put lots of men and women on combat alert for extended period. That stopped economic activities, and for military, it means they are battle-ready and in position, waiting for orders. Military grain reserve has to be released to feed these soldiers when they are in position. They also burned lots of fuel for doing airforce drills to just show off how tough they are.

Now their food and fuel reserve is low. People have not been able to make their living to survive. For what? Nothing so far. No groveling from other countries nor generous aids to appease them. China joined in tightening the screw to some extent as well.

Has anyone seen Kim Jong Un since he went missing a few weeks ago?

Two more are going on as we speak without press coverage. There is also U.S. carrier Nimitz coming to SK for port call and some exercise.

They keep it quiet to avoid another volley of belligerent rhetoric from Pyongyang. We keep it quiet and they can stand down quietly. Or so we think, according to some reports.

What a relief to know that LA will be spared thanks to the efforts of our new Secretary of Steak Sauce.

Our previous Secretary of State, Hitlery von Rottenham Clinton is certainly a hard act to follow by the new Secretary. She distinguished herself in so many ways that one wouldn’t know where to begin. She certainly deserves a medal for her sterling efforts.

We wish her well on her quest to sit her ample posterior in the oval office. She too will have a Monica Lewinsky although used in a slightly different fashion.

Some day a separate federal holiday will be declared on her birthday.

“That stopped economic activities, and for military, it means they are battle-ready and in position, waiting for orders.”

I’d always read that the NK military helps with planting and harvesting. Are there any indications how the planting season is going there? It seems like a poor time to conduct military drills.

They are back to farm fields, catching up with planting. Ground troops quietly stood down and slipped into the daily routine which at least can produce something useful, while Fat Boy was escalating threatening rhetoric with missiles and nukes. He should have made good with some of his words. Unfortunately for him, even China tighten the screw this time, let alone SK, US, and others. I think it has eroded his leadership. This may have consequences down the road. A symmetrical attack is still an on-going threat. That includes hit-and-run provocation with localized military attack.

Lets hope somebody good in the KPA military (an oxymoron?), comes to the conclusion that Little Fat Boy (backed up by his imperial chamberlain-like uncle [”Fishlips”] and aunt [”Spots”] ) went WAAAAAY out on a bluffing limb over the last one month, with all kinds of threats and provocational talk that they could not back up, out of fear of being obliterated. This might inspire a heroic act on the part of one of Kim Jong Un’s inner circle...and I will leave it to your imagination what such an “act” might entail. Let’s just say that his fat dad had to contend with well over 10 attempts during his own career, such was there no love lost amongst the corrupt elite cadre of the criminal syndicate known as the D.P.R.K.
