Sanford is behind 10 points in polls. There’s nothing to be fixed. He’s toast.

Has this ‘oversight’ occurred elsewhere recently?

I generally don’t trust polls, but you’re probably right.

Although Holder is apparently concerned enough to institute “oversight” aka block “suppression” of the dead and repeat voters. Makes me go “hmmmm...”

“The last poll before Tuesday’s election in the First Congressional District shows former Gov. Mark Sanford ahead of Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch by one percentage point.”

This is why the Justice Dept. is monitoring this election. There are two crazy people in this election, but our guy doesn’t have a mug shot. ;o)

I’m sorry...I don’t understand what you mean.

I think he will monitor the election because it’s slipping from the dem fingers. If Sanford is doing well, the usual nefarious stuff will follow.

She has been keeping a low profile, and even refusing to debate. The mug shot, and her record, came out this weekend. She was solid before this, because of her low profile. I would think that’s why the quick change in polling.

Sorry, I left off the /sarc tag. I was saying that your point about the polls closing explained why the DOinJ was sent in (ie to try to make sure the election went to the donk).

Interesting for someone not acquainted with the contest. Except for the DOJ intervention, this would be “a plague on both their houses” type election. As it is, Holder is demonstrating just how fragile our “democracy” really is.

I wonder if this won’t have the opposite effect, riling up republicans who otherwise might have stayed home, particularly if Gov Haley takes a very critical stance against the move.
