Reuters) - The Justice Department will monitor voting in Charleston County, South Carolina, in Tuesday's special election to fill a House of Representatives seat, the department said on Monday.
Former South Carolina Republican Governor Mark Sanford is facing Democratic newcomer Elizabeth Colbert Busch, sister of television political satirist Stephen Colbert, in the First District House race.

Fix in? DOinJ will ignore all malfeasance by the donk and go after so made up cr@p by Sanford.
Yup, fix in.
Sanford is behind 10 points in polls. There’s nothing to be fixed. He’s toast.
Has this ‘oversight’ occurred elsewhere recently?
I generally don’t trust polls, but you’re probably right.
Although Holder is apparently concerned enough to institute “oversight” aka block “suppression” of the dead and repeat voters. Makes me go “hmmmm...”
“The last poll before Tuesdays election in the First Congressional District shows former Gov. Mark Sanford ahead of Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch by one percentage point.”
This is why the Justice Dept. is monitoring this election. There are two crazy people in this election, but our guy doesn’t have a mug shot. ;o)
So Holder sent the blue shirts to nudge to election 1 point? Shock, just SHOCKED I tell y’all!
Another Freeper posted the latest poll that shows Sanford up one point. Hmmmm...
The scumbags NEED to win the House or their communist transformation of the former America will be delayed and have to happen under a president other that the African communist scumbag Ubama. EVERY House seat matters, big time. The scumbags will steal every one they possibly can.
“So Holder sent the blue shirts to nudge to election 1 point?”
I’m sorry...I don’t understand what you mean.
I think he will monitor the election because it’s slipping from the dem fingers. If Sanford is doing well, the usual nefarious stuff will follow.
She has been keeping a low profile, and even refusing to debate. The mug shot, and her record, came out this weekend. She was solid before this, because of her low profile. I would think that’s why the quick change in polling.
Yes...there’s that, in spades!
Sorry, I left off the /sarc tag. I was saying that your point about the polls closing explained why the DOinJ was sent in (ie to try to make sure the election went to the donk).
Interesting for someone not acquainted with the contest. Except for the DOJ intervention, this would be “a plague on both their houses” type election. As it is, Holder is demonstrating just how fragile our “democracy” really is.
Hølder and Ø were both spawned from the same vat of vile filth.
Looks like the New Black Panthers/Black Ku Klux Klan is going to threaten some white voters.....
Taxpayer funded public Democrat election fraud.
The audacity of fraud.
I wonder if this won’t have the opposite effect, riling up republicans who otherwise might have stayed home, particularly if Gov Haley takes a very critical stance against the move.
Who monitors the Justice Department monitors?
No, he is actually up by 1 to 3 points.
Really? And when are they going to monitor ANY election in Philly?
What team of idiots decided Sanford would be a good candidate for this race? Is there a good reason someone electable was not chosen?
This is a political eyesore, no matter who ends up winning, unless Coons can win as a write-in.

This means democratic sections will get carte blanche with no checks of illegal voters, while pubbie districts will get the full court press. One shouldn’t be surprised to see armed Black Panthers at pubbie polling places.
“Sanford is behind 10 points in polls. Theres nothing to be fixed. Hes toast.” Well no, actually he has surged to a +1 as per PPP.
Just voted - two observations:
1. The voting seemed heavier than I expected. 2. There was not a single black in the voting area. Generally, one would expect to see 15 to 20% blacks.
This just means doj will help stuff the ballot box
Sanford by 5 points minimum. The primary voters, Repubs, picked Sanford. You got a problem with that?
I have a problem with the democrat being anywhere near winning over a Republican in a heavily GOP district. This thing should not even be close.
We aneed cameras at polling places to get the faces of people getting off buses and vans.
“monitor” = Protect liberal vote fraud...
So you want one of the no-name candidates that lost to Sanford in the primary to run against Colbert’s sister and their unlimited campaign $$s? Sounds like one of Rove’s sure fire losing props.
I'm not sure you can say that in an open primary state. That is one thing we really need to fix.
They want to make sure no one witnesses the voter fraud.
An improvement would be anybody with a clean, conservative record to waltz into the position. In a GOP stronghold district, this tax sucking democrat nimrod should not even be close.
