CHICAGO -- There are published reports Illinois GOP Chairman Pat Brady is planning to step down for personal reasons.

The reports have Brady announcing his resignation on Tuesday.

Republican State Rep. Jim Durkin told the Chicago Sun-Times Brady is "leaving on terms that he's imposed on himself." Durkin says Brady, who he calls a dear friend, wants to spend more time with his family.

I’m in Chicago and I talk to conservatives all the time. I just never knew there was a Republican party here.

RINOs don’t belong in the republican party, and especially not in leadership. If you’re not a social conservative, don’t seek a leadership role. That is the bedrock of our party, Faith, Family, and Service to Country.

Weird. If he was going to resign, he could have done it last month when we were calling for head and spared that circus at the IL GOP meeting where we got locked out for three hours.

I'm guessing he's reached some backroom deal to have a hand-picked puppet replace him.

...conservatives have called for Brady's removal, in part because he took a stand in favor of gay marriage earlier this year.

LOL, obviously, this guy is himself a turd poker.
Good riddance.

a party that's trying to expand its appeal.

Liberalizing the brand, that's been the plan here in Illinois for a very long time. Backing "republicans" like Mark Kirk, Mitt Romney (early in the primaries) was a huge mistake.

Be aware that losing losers like Brady will not automatically fix the republican party in Illinois.

Pat Brady has no control over who his replacement will be. During the April 13 meeting, the SCC chose a committee who will choose the new chairman.

But definitely a step in the right direction.

You’re probably right. There is no Republican Party to speak of here in IL.

Amen my FRiend. The Ds and Rs are blurred into one power-preserving party known as The Combine. The D's have a family based, RICO-style stranglehold on the state with no true opposition from the Rs. King Mikey makes deals and the Rs follow. Unlawful laws are passed from the initiatives of the Speaker and the blessing of the AG. Nothing to see here, move along.

FYI, Pat Brady says “a woman or a minority” will replace him. If he’d like a minority, how about a conservative? Conservatives are certainly a minority in the IL GOP and we haven’t had one as Chairman in 11 years.

Judy Baah Baah Toooopinka??? Same old. Same old. The old lot lizard can be found if the IL GOP is willing to cruise the truck stops. Or, maybe, Bill Ayres or Bernardine Doehrn. Jesse Jackson, Jr., is unavailable but his wife is available and is both female and minority. Maybe the Rahmfather has a nominee. How about Richie Daley???

Thanks but while I am in Texas I do not think I can swing it.

How about bringing back Sandy Rios!

How about Alan Keyes! We can ship him in! LOL!
